Films about aviation and horror were created just 5 years apart - Georges Méliès' short fantasy films first appeared in 1898, and the Wright brothers flew their historic aircraft to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in 1903.
Aircraft are one of the main elements of "disaster movies", a genre that not only involves some sort of impending disaster, but typically has a storyline that involves mismatched passengers who are constantly bickering with each other.

Serpentine Flight (2006)
Neville Flynn (Samuel L. Jackson) is an FBI agent tasked with bringing a murder witness from Hawaii to Los Angeles to testify against a powerful and sadistic mob boss - so sadistic that he placed a box on board a plane loaded with mostly venomous snakes. which will be released as soon as the timer goes off and the plane flies over the Pacific Ocean.

Flight Illusion (2005)
Oscar-winning actress Jodie Foster plays a grieving woman who, along with her daughter, flies from Berlin with her husband's coffin in the cargo hold. But as the plane reaches its maximum altitude, Foster suddenly panics and wonders what happened to her daughter.
Flight attendants can't find the girl's backpack or boarding pass, German authorities have said the girl never boarded the plane, and it turns out the girl died with her father.
Destination (2000)
