New Year films is the perfect way to celebrate a joyful time filled with friends and parties and start the year off with a clean slate. But 2021 is, to put it mildly, not the most pleasant year, but still ...

While we may not be able to get together with our friends in person this year, at least we can still immerse ourselves in some great New Year's Eve movies from the couch as we dream of 2021 becoming 2022 when we finally covid will end and we can live normally, at least hope dies last.

We have collected the best New Year's films to divert from the past year - from "Exchange leave" before "When Harry Met Sallyand even more unexpected films like Ocean's 11 and classics like Sunset Boulevard.

Here are the best movies to watch on New Year's Eve.

Sleepless in Seattle (1993)

One of the most winter films in the world!"Sleepless in Seattle" starts on Christmas Eve and ends on Valentine's Day, so New Year's Eve and New Year's are obviously an important part of this romantic story about a woman who falls in love with a man she hears on the radio.

Waiting to Exhale (1995)

A movie that reminds us that we don't have to spend this holiday on a date. When Angela Bassett's husband unceremoniously dumps her on New Year's Eve, she is saved by the love and support of her friends in this romantic film.

My Boy (2002)

Spend the holiday season with Will (Hugh Grant), a man living off the royalties from a Christmas song written by his father, and Marcus (young Nicholas Hoult), the "boy" of the title. Lessons will be learned! Lives will change!

Sunset Boulevard (1950)

This movie, directed by Billy Wilder and starring Gloria Swanson, is an American movie classic for many reasons, not least of which is the iconic New Year's Eve scene.

Boyfriend from the Future (2013)

The boyfriend from the future, as the name suggests, quite a few years go by, but time travel protagonist Tim keeps returning to one fateful New Year's Eve party where he must decide whether to kiss the one who slipped away or save his sister from the bad influence.

Well, have you arrived? (2005)

Oh how far we'll go for love. Ice Cube goes so far as to take his sweetheart's two annoying kids to Canada just in time for the New Year.

The Great Gatsby (2013)

Socialites of the Jazz Age"The Great Gatsby" celebrate every day like New Year's Eve, and why not? When the champagne is flowing (illegally) and you have an entire party mansion, you might as well live it!

Eat Pray Love (2010)

A film about starting over makes such sense on New Year's Eve, and no one has started off as spectacularly as Elizabeth Gilbert, played by Julia Roberts, who has left her life in New York to travel the world. During the "prayer" part of her journey at an ashram in India, she and the community celebrate the New Year together.

Carol (2015)

Honestly, the only thing better than the first kiss on New Year's Eve is the first Doing It, and Carol and Teresa do both! The new year fills them with hope and allows them to imagine another life, perhaps together, in the film's most romantic scene.

Exchange Vacation (2006)

This is a special two-for-one offer! Both Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet find love after swapping houses for the winter, celebrating the new year with their new lovers across the pond.

Happy New Year 2014)

happy new year from Netflix describes how, “A revenge-seeking diamond thief gathers a motley crew to infiltrate a Dubai hotel hosting a dance competition. But first they have to learn how to dance.” Essentially, it's likeOcean's Eleven with the best music, so do what you want with it.

Ocean's Eleven (2001)

Speaking of"Ocean's Eleven" Did you know that the robbery takes place on New Year's Eve? It does! George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle and other famous people (playing, of course, little-known people) forbid robbing a casino together. Legendary.

Poseidon Adventure (1972)

And you thought being on a cruise during a pandemic was scary… imagine if this thing sank! In this classic disaster, the posh Nautical New Year's Eve party is rudely interrupted when a tsunami capsizes the boat.

"Old" New Year (2011)

Each iteration of the ploton New Year's Eve tells the story of the interconnected New Yorkers and how they spend the night, whether in the elevator or while waiting for the birth of a child.

Lovers (2008)

Spectator, be careful: "Two lovers" a little more dramatic than the rest of this list, but sometimes we're in the mood for it! Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow play not-quite-connected lovers who attempt a romantic engagement on New Year's Eve, but... well, no spoilers ;)

When Harry Met Sally (1989)

The most epic and romantic New Year's monologue in the entire movie house, without a doubt. Harry and Sally first fall in love while dancing at a New Year's Eve party as friends, and then finally reunite just before midnight a year later.

Bohemia (2005)

"Bohemia" includes not only the important moment of January 1 - breaking into a locked apartment on the first day of the year - it is also explicitly and thematically about what we make of each year we are given. From the songs "Seasons of Love" to "No Day but Today", it's all about starting the year and spending it with the people you love.

Forrest Gump (1994)

In your father's favorite movie, Forrest greets 1972 with the movie's best character, Lieutenant Dan, drinking in a bar. May we all have as much fun as Dan and hopefully as pure as Forrest.

Money Train (1995)

Chances are you haven't seen this 1995 thriller starring Jennifer Lopez, Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, and... for good reason. This is not exactly a revolutionary film! But if you feel like there's a hilarious heist going on with twists and turns on New Year's Eve, you can't go wrong here.

Bridget Jones' Diary (2001)

Where does Bridget meet Mark? New Year party. And what gift does he get from her to show that he really understands her? New diary for the new year. Confirmed: the perfect New Year's couple.

Flirting with the Beast (2001)

Ashley Judd plays a woman trying (quasi-scientifically) to figure out why she's been dumped and constantly having bad luck with men. It so happens that the turning point of New Year's Eve has arrived, which offerslot clarity, but we don't want to spoil it as this movie is one of those romantic comedies you might not have seen before.

High School Musical (2005)

The one that started it all! Troy and Gabriella meet as strangers on New Year's Eve at a ski resort, where they end up playing karaoke together and sparks fly. The rest is Disney history. Although they don't share New Year's Eve kisses (they're a cool PDA-disabled couple, after all), the magic of their first duet is just as sweet.

While you were sleeping (1995)

A rare New Year's offer that we don't root for. It's a combination of a head injury, a misguided identity, and an old-fashioned romcom-style hoax that got Peter Gallagher to give Sandra Bullock a ring, but don't worry, once the holidays were over and the dust settled, she ended up with Bill Pullman, as expected.
