Surfer from California conquers the waves with a goat

California surfer Dan McGregor has been surfing since childhood. He liked it so much that he decided to swim with her.

“I had a goat, I got it to clear my backyard of grass. For my birthday, I decided to go surfing with her. It was amazing, from that day on I started taking it all the time,” McGregor recalls of the day he first took up goat surfing. It was almost 10 years ago.

McGregor, 42, is now teaching kids to surf at Pismo Beach, near Santa Barbara. The domestic goat Pismo and the goat Grover help him in this. Animals help children overcome their fear of water. Also on the example of goats, Dean shows the children how to stay on the water.

One of the students, 10-year-old Miley Robbins, said that swimming with a goat is great fun. “When you first get up on the board, it’s scary, but when there is a goat nearby, the fear goes away and it even becomes very fun.”

McGregor also takes his goat Pismo and goat Grover to football lessons.
