6 useless money-consuming habits

If you live in a large city and buy shawarma on your way back home, you are spending a decent amount on a thing that is harmful to your health. Many of us unknowingly spend money on small purchases over and over again. For example, you can do without an extra pack of cigarettes and a new pack of coffee.

Do you think this is not so? Depends on people. If coffee is important for you, because every morning you need caffeine to recharge your energy, then for me, 5-6 glasses of water for energy and without caffeine is enough.

If you want to save money by avoiding small expenses, change some small habits. We will not cover the most obvious habits, such as cigarettes and alcohol, but will focus on what you may not notice. Also take a look at 5 Ways to Quit Bad Habits (and Get Good Habits).

1. Should I buy fast food?

Of course, many consider this to be normal. Especially young and single. They need to build a career and work hard. Coming home during the evening rush hour after a hard day takes away the willpower and motivation to cook at home. Then you just take out your wallet and buy a pizza, hot dog, or hamburger.

But fast food costs money. Buying it every day, you will spend a decent amount in a week. This money can be spent on buying or preparing a perfectly good dinner. Check out the article 10 Reasons Why Fast Food Is Bad.

2. Do I need an interest-free bank account?

It is possible that you are used to your bank. Most likely, this is even the first bank you work with. But it is worth considering again, is it wise to have an account that is not profitable? Remember that you can get income if you open a deposit with interest.

3. Should I buy on sales?

Shopping at New Year's and other sales is a habit, a cultural phenomenon, when people spend millions every year on one particular day.

If you are not obsessed with fashion, then it is worth deciding on the number of items such as shoes, bags and clothing. If you buy as many of them as will be enough for the current and next seasons, then you will save an amount at least equal to inflation.

4. Can you save on teenagers?

If your kids are older, you should consider whether it is still worth giving them pocket money and buying some things. After all, this deprives them of the motivation for earning their own funds and teaches them to swindlers.

5. Is it worth keeping a home budget?

Budgeting and following your expenses is an essential skill. Make it a habit throughout your life. As you record and allocate your expenses, you will gradually understand where the money is going and what you can do to save money.

6. Do you need a credit card?

Believe me, paying with cash is much more pleasant than with a credit card. So you subconsciously control yourself and spend less. On a credit card, extra money is given to you only for a while. Sooner or later you will have to pay for them. This way you will spend more. Paying in cash will help reduce costs.
