How to cook the perfect rice

Tags: food

Say goodbye sticky, dry, undercooked and overcooked rice: cook delicious fluffy rice easy and simple, if you know a couple of secrets. It is these secrets that will be discussed in this article.

What is needed for cooking:

  • Rice
  • Water
  • Beaker
  • Saucepan with tight-fitting lid
  • Salt
  • Wooden spoon (shovel)
  • Fork

Follow these 5 steps:

1. Boil and salt the water

Pour water into a large saucepan with a tight-fitting lid (for each cup of rice, take 1¾ cups of water) and put on fire. Wait for the water to boil and add 1 teaspoon of salt to it.

2. Pour in the rice

Add rice to a pot of boiling water.

3. Stir the rice once, this is enough to separate the grains from each other

Use a wooden spoon or spatula to separate all grains of rice. Don't overdo it: constant stirring can cause the rice to become sticky.

4. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer

Make sure the lid fits snugly on the pot. Simmer the rice for about 18 minutes, then remove from the heat and let the rice steam in the pan for another 5 minutes.

5. Fluff the rice with a fork

Before serving, fluff the rice gently with a fork to separate the grains.

Advice.

Do not open the pot or stir the rice during cooking. If it's done, before you're ready to serve it, place a folded tea towel over the pot. The towel will absorb excess moisture and condensation, helping the rice not to overcook and become too soft.
