The stereotypical view that female comic book characters are less violent than their male counterparts is misguided. This becomes known when you begin to study the history of a particular comic book. In fact, women who are not afraid to shed a lot of blood on their way can turn out to be reckless heroes.
We know some of them from films, but there are moments in comics with them that can really excite the reader. These most brutal moments involving female superheroes are listed below. Enjoy reading. 10. Batgirl takes revenge
When DC rebooted the universe under the name New 52, almost all of the heroes had their backstories changed. Oddly enough, however, was the decision to preserve Batgirl's horrific past - the part where she was paralyzed by the Joker and possibly abused her. Why would they do this? Obviously: revenge!
In a new adventure, she regains her legs and pursues her superhero career. In Batgirl # 15, she finally comes face to face again with the villain who ruined her life. But she does not kill him, instead paralyzes him in the same way he once paralyzed her by stabbing him hard in the groin.
9. Wonder Woman breaks Maxwell's neck
Wonder Woman is a true example of recklessness. Over the years, various authors have rethought its purpose in their own way. For example, one of the most controversial cases in this character's history is Wonder Woman Vol 2 # 219. In this comic, the villain Maxwell Lord subdues Superman's mind. Wonder Woman comes running to save her friend and, having tied the Lord with her “Lasso of Truth,” asks him the question: how to save Superman? To which Maxwell replied that only his own death could free the superhero. Realizing what needs to be done, Wonder Woman unwaveringly twists the Lord's neck.
8. Catwoman commits murder of Black Mask
Catwoman is a character who constantly oscillates between good and evil. She usually does what she sees fit for her own personal goals. But, unlike Batman, which this character looks like, she does not always succeed in following the motto "no kills". Catwoman # 52 is a good example of this when she kills Black Mask - a boss in the underworld who is not a saint himself. He terribly tortured Maggie, the friend of a catwoman, forcing her to watch how, right in front of her eyes, this bandit kills her husband. Catwoman couldn't leave it all. She catches Black Mask and just shoots him through the brain instead of bringing him to justice.
7. Wonder Woman kills Ares
Resolute Wonder Woman is the best Wonder Woman ever. Actually, she is loved for this determination and ability to make difficult choices for the good of the world. This is especially evident in Wonder Woman Vol. 3 # 33, where she kills Ares, the god of war, by driving an ax into his skull. You would never see Superman do that ...
6. Harley Quinn makes Deadshot look like a Joker
Almost all readers know that Harley Quinn has nothing to do with superheroes, but her participation in the suicide squad made her more of an antihero than a villain. She really helped save the world, but this does not cancel the violence left behind. One of the truly terrible and hard-hitting things she did while in the suicide squad was to replace the face of her second lover, Deadshot, with a Joker smile. This scene was in Suicide Squad Vol. 4 # 7. There, having tied Deadshot in a chair, she takes out the joker's face and forces the killer to put it on. After which Quinn sits right on him and begins to question why he once left her. It’s bloody, it’s unpleasant, and looking at everything that happens, you just don’t know what to say.
5. Black Canary destroys the biker club
Fans know why they love Frank Miller's All Star Batman and Robin comic, as there is one scene here that stands out from the rest. The departure of the Black Canary from the rowdy crew who wanted a little more attention from her. In # 3, there comes a point where she can't stand it anymore and destroys the bar, leaving behind a bunch of broken limbs. And one of the guys there is even forced to eat his own wedding ring.
4. Dark Phoenix Destroys 5 Billion Population
Many fans call "The Dark Phoenix Saga" the best story not only from the X-Men branch, but in general in the entire history of comics. When Gina Gray sacrifices herself for her partners, she is reborn as the Phoenix, but the forces of evil desecrate her. Thus, the Dark Phoenix appears, which turns into dust more than 5 billion creatures in the distant cosmic system. It was Uncanny X-Men # 135.
3. Black Widow as a universal assassin
The Ultimates is a reimagined comic book edition. The action takes place in 2002, but in a parallel universe. The events and characters of the characters here are similar to the main branch, but in a darker setting. Take Black Widow at least. After being briefed in episode # 7, she and Hawkeye go to black ops. The Widow seems to have enjoyed killing a huge number of people, as she becomes very excited about killing the bad guys.
This scene makes sense, since later allies are on her account.
2. Scarlet Witch neutralizes the whole world
The Scarlet Witch from The Avengers is probably the worst version of her. It's not that Elizabeth Olsen is a bad actress, it's just the original version of the comic, a very powerful creature. One of the most serious things she ever did was change the world - episode # 7. Using her powers to get rid of the mutants, she utters the phrase: "No more mutants." All mutants die. Of course, she had good intentions, but because of this, countless people with mutant abilities died.
1. Bubble devours a Wasp (Marvel Ultimate)
To tear apart human guts, and then eat them ... In a civilized society, this is a complete absurdity. But the writers, of course, never stopped. For the loud introduction of the comic, it was decided to kill one of the members of the original version of the Avengers - Wasp, in a terrible and cruel way. She drowned in the water, her body floating down the drain, where Bubble found her. As if death alone was not enough for the authors, and they decided to supplement the story with the fact that the Bubble tears it open, after which it begins to eat.
