7 tips for creating your own manga

Do you think you have a stunning story that could turn into manga? Most of us are capable of coming up with a decent storyline. You will definitely succeed, you just need patience and a drop of skill. Here are some tips to help you create your future bestseller.

These are the best tips on how to write your own manga:

1. Write a summary of the manga

You can't write a plot until you come up with an ending. How will events develop there? Write a summary of the story without going into details. Then reduce it to one sentence. For example, the Dragon Ball Z manga can be described as follows: "A group of friends are fighting unfamiliar enemies to protect the Earth." This sentence does not fully describe all the anime, but it can be used to judge its ending.

2. Create characters

In order for the story to develop, you need to come up with characters. Where were they born? Do they have any values? Does love arise between them? Are they best friends or sworn enemies? What can make them mad? Write their full description as if you were telling someone about your boyfriend (girlfriend). Describe their strengths and weaknesses, this will come in handy when you think through the storyline.

3. Write a story

At the moment, without thinking about the "decorations" of your manga (anime, comic book) or any issues raised, just start writing. How does it all start? Who is this happening to? Why did she leave or why did he come back? Will his powers return? Why did he lose them? Write down the answers to all these questions.

4. Get down to the details

Now that the picture "in general" has begun to clear up, it's time to move on to details. You will need to add some actions to your story, so as to interest and intrigue your future reader. Think about how events will develop. Is everything ready? Moving on to the plan for the future anime.

5. Divide the anime into chapters

Each chapter should convey a certain amount of information and contain illustrations. If you don't know how to draw well, then at this stage you don't have to worry too much about the drawings. Focus on the text. What are the characters talking about? What actions will they take? What information do you want to convey to the reader? Break your story into separate chapters.

6. Put it all together

Now is the time to combine the story told with the illustrations. Find a good artist or, if you feel the strength in yourself, draw your anime characters. There are some great drawing tutorials out there, and there is a wealth of information on the subject on the internet. Breathe life into characters by changing facial expressions and dialogues between them.

7. Publication

Advice:

  • 1. If it is difficult to come up with your own characters, then you can try to write fanfic based on an existing work. The characters have already been created, it remains to come up with an alternative storyline.
  • 2. Watch some of your favorite anime and try to understand why exactly they became your favorite? Is the plot dashingly twisted? Peculiar characters?
  • 3. Take your time. Sometimes great ideas may take a while. Don't be discouraged if the writing process takes longer than you imagined.
