10 misconceptions about Islam

Islam is the second largest religion in the world, with 1.4 billion believers worldwide, second after Christianity, with more than 2 billion followers. Islam was founded in the 7th century. Its history begins in 622 AD of the Samvat era and is called Hajri, when its founder, the prophet Hazrat Muhammad, came from Madina to Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

Misconception is defined as a point of view or opinion that is incorrectly based on an erroneous thought or concept. To begin with, it is very important to get rid of the main misconceptions that most people mistakenly carry about Islam. None of the religions preaches anything bad or wrong. And many people have a misconception about Islam. This religion is as pure as other religions.

Besides, people professing it are just people, and nothing more. God is one and we call him by different names, for some he is Allah, for some he is Bhagavat, while others call him Jesus. The Lord Almighty bears many names with respect for the religion we profess.

Food for the mind: is our blood red, but is it green for those who practice Islam? Of course not, we clearly declare that no matter what religion we follow, no matter what caste we belong to, we have the same blood, and this makes us equal. Bottom line: what kind of people, so is religion.

1. Muslims are violent / extremists

This is one of the deepest and most widely accepted misconceptions about Islam. This is the result of constant stereotyping and flagellation of Islam in the press. When a mobster aims at a mosque in the name of Judaism, a Catholic liberation warrior of the Irish Republican Army detonates a bomb in an urban area, or when a Serbian orthodox "cannon fodder" rapes and kills an innocent Muslim people, such actions are not taken for granted.

These actions are never associated with the beliefs of these murderers. We still continue to hear the words "Islamist" or "Muslim fundamentalist" all over the place due to their love of violence. the policies of the so-called "Islamic-minded countries" may or may not be Muslim-based. Often dictators or people in politics will use his name for their own purposes.

Everyone should be enlightened and try to remember the source of Islam and share what is really written in the postulates of the Islamic religion and how they are simulated in the press. The real purpose of Islam is worship of God, and it has its roots in the word for peace. Islam can seem tempting and even exotic in today's modern world.

Be that as it may, while religion does not control daily life in the West, Islam is a way of life for Muslims and does not draw boundaries in their lives between the secular and the sacred. Like Christianity, Islam gives the right to self-defense under the auspices of the religion of all the disadvantaged and those who have been taken home by force. It lays down strict rules for dealing with restrictions on rights regarding harm to civilians, destruction of cultural property, and destruction of plants and livestock.

It is an absolutely obvious fact that Islam does not propagandize anywhere and does not even allow the killing of innocent people.
War, therefore, is a last resort and is fought under exceptional circumstances established by sacred law. The term "jihad" literally means "struggle". According to Muslims, there are two types of jihad. Another "jihad" is the inner struggle of the soul, which each one wages with his puny greed for the sake of establishing inner peace.

2. Women are oppressed in Islam

"Truly the noblest of you in the eyes of Allah are the most pious." These lines are taken from the Koran - the holy book of Islam. Many people think that Islam oppresses women and violates their rights. But, in fact, real honor and status are not assigned on the basis of caste, skin color, wealth or poverty, gender. More often this is achieved through faith, religion and devotion.

Unfortunately, in some Islamic countries women are deprived of equality, but this is not the fault of Islam. This is because in many countries people follow cultural practices and traditions that have nothing to do with Islam. Islam has always assumed equal rights for both men and women. These include the right to education, the right to divorce, and the right to choose a spouse.

3. Islam allows terrorism

One of the most powerful misconceptions about Islam. The result of the stamps and scourging of Islam imposed by the press. The media is very biased towards Muslims when it comes to terrorist attacks. They paint a Muslim as a terrorist. But the real picture is that Islam does not allow anyone to destroy even one plant or kill an animal unnecessarily. Islam is based on the politics of peace, love, compassion, unity and brotherhood.

Dictators and politicians will often use the name of Islam for their own purposes. Everyone should know or try to understand the origins of Islam in order to separate the truly correct postulates of Islam from those imposed by the press. Muslims are distinguished by 2 types of jihad. One of them is an internal struggle with oneself for the establishment of peace in the soul.

But some marginalized small groups (albeit a minority) are spreading hatred among religions, treating the latter as "infidels" and inferior, but most Muslims in India, such as the current jihads and ISIS terrorists, are seen as defaming Islam by using it to brand terrorism. War is the last resort and is unleashed only in exceptional circumstances established by the Holy Law.

4. Hijab - oppression

While wearing the hijab, Muslim women are obliged to cover all parts of their bodies without exposing them to unfamiliar men. Such women observe the hijab, because Allah ordered so, who knows what is good or bad for procreation. The hijab allows a woman and gives her the opportunity to emphasize her inner nobility and beauty, without detracting from her physical dignity.

5. Islam forces you to become a Muslim

No one can force another to eat, sleep, study. Likewise, even if it is the duty of a Muslim to spread the ideas and thoughts of Islam among others, no one can demand acceptance of Islam. To accept Islam voluntarily, a person must be morally and spiritually ready to believe and obey God. Nobody can be forced to accept Islam.

6. Islam encourages forced marriage

In many countries, marriage is a cultural tradition that dominates society. Not only for Muslims, forced marriage has been associated with Islam for centuries. But in reality, Islam gives equal legal rights to both men and women in choosing a spouse, and in fact the marriage will not take place if the woman's consent is not mutual.

7. All Muslims are Arabs

Islam is the second largest religion in the world with more than 1.4 billion adherents, the second after Christianity, which is professed by more than 2 billion people. Indonesia has the largest number of Muslims. The second largest Muslim population is India. Pakistan lags behind in their number. Only 20% of Muslims are Arabs.

8. Muslims don't love Jesus

Christianity is historically associated with Islam. In fact, many will be surprised to learn that according to the Muslim faith, Jesus is one of the greatest messengers of God. Just like Christianity, Islam gives in its person the right to defend itself or those who have been left homeless. Jesus is often referred to in the lines of the Qur'an as a kind and chaste character. One line of divergence between Islam and Christianity is that Muslims do not recognize Jesus as God.

9. Allah is the God of Islam

Allah simply means God.This is the god Abraham, whom Muslims, Jews and Christians pray to. The Christian family and the Jewish family are patronized by Isaac, while the Muslims are patronized by Ismail. Both Isaac and Ishmael are the sons of Abraham.

10. All ISIS members are Muslim

Ruthless ISIS members ignore the concepts, ideology and the very essence of the Quran without shame. The Qur'an is categorically against the unwanted killing of plants, animals and human life on this planet. The target of ISIS members is the poor, innocent, living in poverty and thus condemned to despair. These terrorists do not respect the Koran and therefore do not have the right to be considered Muslims.
