10. Wasp - "Horror"


Discovered in 2011.

The monster was officially discovered during an expedition to the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. The sample in the photo is a male of a new species of wasp - Megalara Garuda, named after the mythical half-human-half-bird Garuda, the national symbol of Indonesia. It is also known as:

  • "King of the Wasps"
  • "Warrior Os",
  • "Komodo Dragon of the Wasp Family".

Wasp Garuda reaches 2.5 cm in length. Its powerful jaws are longer than its own legs. All of this is undoubtedly a huge part of the gruesome insect containment, but what really takes it for a living is the fact that the wasp has developed powerful jaws to grab females for fertilization. In other words, the flying monster is a real rapist.

9. Frog Ninja


Discovered in 2011.

Researchers who tested the frog's DNA found that it is a completely new species that lives in the New York area. It all started when a bored person noticed that leopard frogs from all over Staten Island and the Bronx, belonging to the species of various croakers, were feeding separately from this one. Currently, scientists have not yet decided on a name for the new species.
