25 funniest characters in anime

I think comedy goes well with anime.

It may not have the masterpiece of humor from Big Bazoing. But most of the time I can laugh myself.

And what is a funny show without funny characters? (except junk TV)

So, we have already compiled a rating of the funniest anime series. But let's go through the laughing kings and queens of anime while we count the funniest anime characters.

25. Rudeus Greyrat

Anime: Mushoku Tensei: Reincarnation Without a Job

This series was a lot funnier than I thought, thanks in large part to the way Rudeus was written.

Because he's an adult pervert in a little boy's body (a boy doesn't say that), we get a lot of panty shenanigans.

But this is far from his best trick.

Since he spent most of his previous life on the Internet, this guy has a rather sharp tongue and is constantly pricking people. True, he usually doesn't have the courage to say it out loud...

To be honest, all the Gray Rats kicked my stomach several times.

24. Aoi Toudou

Anime: Jujutsu Kaisen

At first, I thought Tudo's comedic sign would fall completely.

And I thought he was just going to be some kind of buff.

But when he had this made-up memory just because Itadori liked women of the same type, I knew I hit gold.

This guy is downright misguided, but it plays out in such a charming way that it never gets old.

Itadori plays along because they had one moment of bromance in the middle of a fight, which is just the icing on the cake.

23. Nozomu Itoshiki

Anime: Sayonara, Zetsubou-Sensei

When it comes to black humor, Nozomu is the champion.

It's because this dude sees inlife a very cruel joke and somehow sees the worst in every possible situation.

But even though his perception is so bleak, he is just full of energy.

This combination leads to some pretty ridiculous and hilarious scenes where he essentially tries to hasten his suicide or takes such a crazy and ridiculous turn that you just can't stop laughing.

And his refusal to finally settle down got a lot of common ground from me.

22. Maeda

Anime: Asobi Asobase

Like the previous choice, Maeda is definitely an addict.

Asobi Asobase is a hyperactive, consummate child of the anime comedy genre. And this man is at the top.

He is Hanako's butler and has an uncanny ability to constantly appear out of thin air and misunderstand everything.

Luckily, he still has a laser gun in his ass.

On reflection, I can't say it was luck, but it definitely led to some absurd jokes.

21. Chrome

Anime: Dr. Stone

Chrom is both a genius and a dumbass. Again, relativity is highly praised here.

Having spent most of his life believing that he is the next Harry Potter, Chrome has developed a rather proud attitude. This makes him make a fool of himself.

Whether it's his first antics when he's trying to impress Senku, or his later reliable yet flamboyant approach to any problem.

This stone age wizard definitely made the show a lot funnier with his presence.

Also, an honorable mention to Kaseki, the body king grandfather, and Ginrou, the regular editor of Reddit.

20. Iori Kitahara

Anime: grand blue

Everyone on this show is a little upset.

But the person who turns this madness into a comedy is no doubt Iori.

It is like the best channel of reaction.

While everyone is just minding their own business, playing with naked paper scissors and checking alcohol poisoning death rates, Iori serves as the voice of reason that makes fun of it all.

Don't get me wrong, he does the same stupid things too. But it's his realization of how truly stupid it is that makes this series one of my favorite anime comedies.

19. Zenitsu Agatsuma

Anime: Demon Slayer

I admit, "Zenitsu" is a rather ridiculous character. So, you honestly either love it or hate it.

In case you couldn't tell, I like this pompous coward.

There's something so genius about a dude who can pull off the most painful one-shot move and then immediately convince himself that he's weaker than a five year old.

And although the jokes may seem repetitive, every time it somehow turns me on.

Add to that the literal embodiment of chaotic energy called Inosuke and you've got one funny moment after another, even if the show can get pretty dark.

18. Cancer Rayfraiser

Anime: Tower of God

I love Cancer for the same reason I love Chrome - this dude is so brilliant and stupid at the same time that it just pisses me off.

Even little things like the fact that he insists that everyone is a turtle always makes me smile.

Then add in more absurd moments like when he was trying to solve a puzzle or when he literally became a chibi character and you have a pretty hilarious dude.

The fact that he physically looks cool and intimidating only adds to the comedy of my book.

17. Sasha Blouse

Anime: Attack of the Titans

Attack on Titan can be downright depressing at times, with all the death and betrayal in the air.

So even a ray of sunshine is of great importance.

This task mostly falls to Sasha, as her endless hunger caused some moments to be rather ridiculous, most notably the potato incident at the boot camp.

And since she's a side character, you can always bet she'll do something over the top and funny when it's really all about her.

16. Ristart

Anime: Cautious Hero: The hero is strong but too cautious

Go ahead, call her Bing/Wish Aqua, my devotion to her still undiminished.

In many ways, Ristarte is just a waking hormone of pride, unfortunate enough to fall in love with a brick wall personality. And thisfabulous .

The way she constantly gets flustered and states everything that's on her mind, which is usually perverted, makes for stellar jokes.

She can barely get inside the friend zone, let alone the bedroom.

Also, she is the only character I know who has demonstrated why flying at high speeds is a disaster for the image of any woman.

15. Inko

Anime: Toradora!

I really need to include Inko on this list simply because she is the only mascot style character that has ever managed to make me laugh all the time.

From the fact that her name is literally "parrot" in Japanese, to her inability to pronounce her simple name even though she can pronounce other very complex words...

It's all just brilliant.

She constantly looks like she's on the verge of death, but she also looks oddly goofy and hilarious.

I love this bird, I want this bird, it should be on this list.

14. Koro sensei

Anime: Assassin Class

You will be forced to find a character as goofy and cute as Korosensei, which is extremely ironic given his backstory.

He has a smirk on his face all the time, and his visual design just allows for some top-notch jokes. Whether it's when he's sent to an agitated prison or when he becomes depressed due to some minor inconvenience, this moon-crushing yellow squid-man is one of the most recognizable characters in all of anime.

So, if you're looking for some fun humor and an ending that will get you out of your depression, Assassination Classroom is the place to be.

13. Saitama

Anime: One Punch Man

What makes Saitama so funny is that he's not funny.

This dude never tries to be sassy or entertaining. In fact, he looks bored in almost every scene.

But that's what makes it so fun.

He is incredibly strong so he is never forced to change his behavior by having him eliminate national threats while worrying about upcoming bills.

I would also like to pay tribute to Mumen Rider simply because his battle with Deep Sea King made me fall off my chair.

12. Riki Nendo

Anime: The catastrophic life of Saiki K.

This anime as a whole is just fun, almost every character has a feature worthy of this list.

But Nendou is by far my favorite.

If a character is going to be really dumb to make fun of a few jokes, that's the same kind of cliché you can use in comedy.

But Nendo perfected this form. He is so believable and at the same time extremely stupid that I never anticipate any of his jokes.

I still remember the tears I shed when he calmly stated that the turbulence in the plane was caused by an earthquake.

11. Arataka Reigen

Anime: Mob Psycho 100

I feel like I should dislike Reigen, at least a little. But I just can't bring myself to do it.

He is a swindler. The type who would probably sell his grandmother for little money.

And yet he's so cute.

Maybe it's just because of how dramatic he is, or because of the visual gags that usually put him at the center. Nut, the dude is just hilarious.

And after watching the season 1 finale, I realized that if Reigen had been a strong protagonist and not Mob, this show would have lost all ground when it came to telling a serious story. It would be just an enchanting comedy.

10. Amatsuyu Kisaragi

Anime: ORESUKI Are you the only one who loves me?

It could just be because the r/niceguys pissed me off, but I found Kisaragi to be hilarious.

Because he is literally the personification of this subreddit.

He continues to play the role of a naive high school student in the hope of getting his own harem. But every time, Bench-kun appears from the shadows and ruins his day.

He is far from being a nice person and does not try to be funny. But his retarded nature just kills me.

9. Shinra Kishitani

Anime: Durarara!!

I love Shinra for all the opposite reasons to my previous choice as this dude is damn helpful.

Of course, he is an underground doctor, and he had one giant selfish lie.

But his love for Celty is such a big part of his personality that you just can't see him as the bad guy.

And when he interacts with Celty, I like it the most, because he just goes along with everything that happens.

“I wanted to kiss, but I was trapped in a dark ball. Monday, am I right? “I really like this kind of humor.

8. Jiraiya

Anime: naruto

How could we not mention the First Sage?

Although he is one of the most powerful characters in the series, Jiraiya has never been serious.

Like a true sage, he overcame normal human addictions, but then dropped again and increased his lust rate.

This man just wants to do research for his book, looking at naked women of course, and only occasionally trains ninjas who later become the literal gods of their village.

It's just really hard not to love this dumb old badass and his antics.

7. Yato

Anime: Noragami

Yato just feels like your incredibly funny best friend from high school.

He is constantly doing something, because the temples do not pay for themselves. And he always seems to be in high spirits.

Of course, he sometimes has unpleasant moments that make my jaw drop. But more often than not, he's just a stupid little guy who wants to be loved.

He feels like a mixture of Reigen, Shinra and Zenitsu, so he surpasses them all.

Also because I would totally agree with his belief, but that doesn't matter.

6. Shiro Ashiya

Anime: The devil works part-time!

Even though Sadao is the titular devil, it was actually his right hand Shiro that made me roll on the floor laughing.

As the king's adviser, Shiro constantly gets tired of acting professionally and does a lot of hard work when it comes to the two's survival.

But in today's world, that means just being a housewife. And I really liked it.

When he started whining about the bills or his workload, the bromance got a little more cannon-like—and a lot more fun.

5. Joseph Joestar

Anime: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Joseph may not have been the coolest Joestar, or even the most powerful Joestar. But I'll be damned if he wasn't the funniest.

The man's absurdity never ceased to entertain, whether it be his glittery female disguise paired with tequila appetizers or the fact that he was late to his own funeral. This man is just a legend.

Even as an old man in Part 3, Joseph just keeps hitting the target over and over again.

4. Isaac Diane and Miria Harvent

Anime: Baccano!

It doesn't seem right to separate these two, so we'll just treat them as the dynamic duo they are.

Definitely my favorite couple in all of anime. And any scene in which they participate physically cannot leave me indifferent.

They have a very cartoonish personality and always seem to go on weird adventures that just happen to break the law.

In fact, they are so funny and funny that I often forget that they are criminals. Hell, I think even the people they rob forget about it.

3. Mako Mankanshoku

Anime: Kill la Kill

Mako is probably the only character on this list that can make me laugh without any tweaks.

She doesn't need another character, a particular scene, or even something that needs to happen.

Most likely, she could make me laugh, watching the paint dry.

This is because she is a one woman show. And everything that comes out of her mouth is like a performance.

Mako constantly talks about something, ranging from unnecessary visuals to two hours of nonsense. And I love it. It's like an energy drink in the morning.

2. Kazuma Sato

Anime: KonoSuba

It's hard to come up with a more realistic protagonist than Kazuma.

Not because he is super complex and scrupulous, but because heso petty and quick-tempered, that I display at least 10 identical stamps every minute that he appears on the screen.

And that's what makes it so fun.

He does not find it below his dignity to strike at idlers. And his ability to complain about anything and everything is truly admirable.

But what strikes me the most is his angry freaks, because they are just comedic gold.

1. Gintoki Sakata

Anime: Gintama

It only makes sense that the father of all comedic anime is also number one on this list.

The look on this man's face alone would make him a place on this list, as I sincerely believe that there is no human emotion that cannot be conveyed through Gintoki's photographs.

In terms of attitude, he is very similar to Kazuma as he just doesn't care about looking like the perfect hero or anything like that.

He is lazy, shallow, stupid, and very obsessed with strawberry milk.

Plus, it breaks the fourth wall, just like every other episode. So he can make fun of anything and everything - it's all on the table.
