Top 10 iPhone 12 Features

Apple announced its next entry-level iPhone, the iPhone 12, at its Hi, Speed online event today. The new iPhone 12 line comes with the latest A14 Bionic processor, new (but already familiar) design and 5G connectivity (finally!), among other features. So, without further ado, let's dive into the very best iPhone 12 features you should know.

Key features of the iPhone 12

1.Return design

The iPhone 12 is made from sleek, flat aluminum with bevelled edges, which is just amazing. People who used the iPhone 4 or the original iPhone SE should definitely find the design quite nostalgic.

2. Lighter and thinner

With a new design and other general improvements, iPhone 12 is 11% thinner than iPhone 11. It's also 15% smaller and 16% lighter.

3. Super Retina XDR display

With iPhone 12, Apple has done away with the controversial display of the iPhone XR and iPhone 11. Now you get a stunning 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (OLED) display with a resolution of 2532 x 1170 at 460 ppi. Because each pixel on the OLED display is individually backlit, this should deliver stunning true blacks in photos and videos. You also get an incredible 2000000:1 contrast ratio.

Compared to the 1792 x 828ppi / 326ppi display in the previous two baseline iPhones, you now have almost twice as many pixels. Expect increased visual clarity in just about everything you do.

4. A14 Bionic Processor

In keeping with tradition, the iPhone 12 features Apple's fastest processor to date, the A14 Bionic. Developed on a 5nm process using up to 11.8 billion transistors, the A14 Bionic delivers up to 50 percent faster performance than competing smartphone chipsets.

The iPad Air (4th generation), announced by Apple last month, was the first device to feature the A14 Bionic processor, but that doesn't make the iPhone 12 any less interesting. You still get the fastest smartphone on the market.

5. 5G communication

5G connectivity, something we've all been waiting for from an iPhone, is finally here with the iPhone 12. It supports most 5G bands on any smartphone, allowing it to work with 5G in more places. With ultra-low latency and faster network speeds in densely populated areas, it should provide ultra-fast download and upload speeds up to 4.0Gbps and 200Mbps respectively.
