20 beautiful and aesthetic anime to watch

A big part of what makes anime so interesting is that it's all animated. This way you will see color palettes and landscapes that you will never see in real life.

And there are definitely a few anime that are just visually more pleasing than others.

So, to celebrate this beautiful art, we are going to count down some of the most aesthetically pleasing anime ever made. If you're into anime, you'll probably enjoy a lot of this list, and even more so if you're also into art.

20. House of five leaves

I want to start with this show as I understand it may not be for everyone.

The show has a very distinct style, as everything looks like it's drawn and not drawn, at least to me. There is also an enduring feel to autumn, with gloomy colors, serene music and a story that revolves aroundunsaid more than the dialogue itself.

I would definitely suggest watching the first three episodes to see if you like the tone of the show. And who knows, it might add another hidden gem to your collection.

19. Terror in Resonance

Just like the last record reminds me of autumn, this show reminds me of a cold, dry winter.

The plot is much more action-packed as it technically deals with terrorism. But between the explosions and the chaos, there is a sad gloom in the air.

The art style is different enough to be recognizable, but not as off-putting as the last entry. And the last episode, in my humble opinion, was a work of art in itself.

18. The Promised Neverland

I'm not sure if "pleasant" is the right word for this show, but it's definitely beautiful.

It's because it's probably the best anime ever.ever in terms of its creepiness. The show is shot through with very tight footage in dimly lit rooms, POV from an unknown source, and wide-angle shots of a rather unsettling world.

In the second season, it even expands and adds moremore unknown factor.

The show is so masterfully crafted that a person who has never seen anime can enjoy it to the fullest. Trust me, I have converted some people with it.

17. Samurai Champloo

I wouldn't even say that Samurai Champloo has an art style. Rather, it's just the atmosphere.

Against all odds, Manglobe managed to capture the rugged and stoic nature of the samurai lifestyle while also incorporating contemporary elements such as hip hop.

The show itself is one big journey. And the atmosphere is so well done that you just feel like you're right next to the main trio.

The soundtrack also does the hard work and really carves a niche for this classic anime.

16. Camp Yuru

Yuru Camp is an anime that can instantly warm you up from the inside.

As the name suggests, it is mainly camping and outdoor recreation.

Although nature shots are not something exclusive to this anime, I can say that few people can do it this well.

In English, the name of the show translates as "Laid-back camp" and that's how you will feel all the time.

The soundtrack is subtle and serene, the main characters are little balls of joy, and the scenery really lets you put your feet up and take a nap.

15 Mob Psycho 100

Now Mob Psycho 100 is at its best in a tense and heavy atmosphere.

Created by the same person who made One Punch Man, this show isaesthetic masterpiece .

Every time a major battle starts, the screen lights up in multiple colors, the music gets louder and louder, and all hell breaks loose.

The show also has its quiet and brooding moments. And unlike One Punch Man, this is a truly touching story.

But the visuals were definitely what pushed me personally into it.

14. Your name.

I'm sure you all have at least heard of this movie as it has become a staple in the anime community.

Even though it's just a simple love story, the added supernatural elements and elaborate details in every background, as well as the wide shotreally allocate it.

Something as simple as a red thread representing fate was used so effectively in this movie that you just can't help but sit back in awe. And then he'll probably cry.

13. Death Parade

Death Parade is a show that is unlikely to ever be repeated.

Not only is it visually unique and stunning, but even its concept feels fresh and innovative.

The show touches on death and what happens after it, so as you'd expect, the show has some pretty dark colors and painful scenes.

But on the other hand, there's this jazzy feel to the whole anime, with flashy and vibrant acting, uplifting openings, and character designs that are truly out of this world. The show feels like an optimistic existential crisis, and I love it.

12. Yuri!!! on ice

Whenever this series comes out, people like to focus on the homoerotic nature of anime.

But he hasmuch more possibilities, other than finally showing some representation.

The show is visually stunning as each scene is like a piece of art in its own right, where every move is so carefully planned and the storyline behind every jump is so meaningful that you are much more involved in skating than you thought. maybe.

11. No game - no life

No Game No Life is a master of using bright colors to depict a world that is similar to ours, but at the same time so fundamentally different.

Monochrome is a myth for this show. And each character design just oozes inspiration and style.

And whenever a major battle breaks out, it's highlighted like daylight, but you can never guess what's about to happen.

The opening scene where Sora and Shiro fall down to their new home demonstrates how much effort went into making this anime. And I think it should be commended.

10 Demon Slayer

It's not uncommon for popular shounen series to feature top-notch animation.

But Demon Slayer is really outbeyond what we are used to.

Their use of CGI was so perfect and flawless that it felt like they were watching anime in 3D. This is especially noticeable when there is a big fight going on and we see water pouring out of a sword or lightning bolt to emphasize the fighter's speed.

And don't even make me start the music here. Just unbelieveble.

9. Barakamon

Barakamon might seem like a niche show. But I'm sure everyone will love it.

The action takes place on a rural island, so you get a lot of beautiful scenery and lots of fun scenes with local kids running around.

The main character is a calligrapher and seeing him come up with his newest work was amazing in anime. As amazing as it would be to see in real life, and maybe evenmore .

The atmosphere here is calm and relaxing, and the soft color palette really helps take the edge off.

8. Series “Monogatari”

I can't pinpoint exactly what makes the Monogatari series so great because it has it all.

While some parts (like the Kizumonogatari trilogy) have a dark and rough undertone where everything seems heavy and gloomy, other parts (like Bakemonogatari) are usually upbeat and present a much brighter world.

So with so many characters, lots of settings, and different tones, the Monogatari series is amazing in that it was even able to create all these parties with variety and unity.

7. Hyouka

I know in the last post I just went through all the "school art reviews" but with Hyoka, I honestly can't explain what makes him so visually stunning.

The show has just a wonderful quality of production. So the movements feel fluid, the world is bright and realistic, and the characters are fleshed out.

Coupled with an amazing choice of soundtracks and very good writing, the show is simply good in every way.

6. Mushisi

Mushisi's world is truly fantastic, but at the same time believable.

As the protagonist goes from place to place helping those who can and their ailments with Mushi, we see bits and pieces of the world he inhabits in all its terrifying beauty.

Since the action mostly takes place in the countryside, nature is a constant backdrop. And the mystical Mushi are depicted as moths in the world of darkness.

I saw a YouTuber perfectly describe Mushishi's beauty with this phrase: "It's an obsessive calm."

5. Mononoke

Mononoke takes a lot of Mushishi's positive qualities and simply enhances them.

As in Mushishi, the protagonist goes from place to place and tries to rid the world of evil spirits, here called mononoke.

So, this anime has the same mysterious psychology combined with nature themes like Mushishi.

However, in terms of visual storytelling, "Mononoke"as original as the show can be .

The characters have unique features, every scene flashes with vibrant colors, and even the animation feels like something you've never seen before.

4 Devilman: Crybaby

Devilman: Crybaby feels like a giant acid trip while preaching.

Everything about this show is so slightly different from what you're used to that it takes you by surprise time and time again.

One minute there is a scene of calm driving down the highway, and the next moment reality itself begins to distort and demons emerge from the walls (which no sober person can imagine) and start dancing.

The show is definitely unique. And if you don't mind anime using mature themes in a rather experimental way, you'll definitely enjoy Devilman: Crybaby.

3. A place outside the universe.

In this article, I have repeatedly mentioned beautiful landscapes. But “A Place Farther Than the Universe” in this department is just my favorite.

It's all about an epic adventure to the ends of the earth, and its charming cast faces any kind of landscape.

The only thing that characterizes the whole show is a sense of adventure, discovery and fun.

It's a show that has such an infectious charm that it can pull you out of the biggest hardships of your life.

2. Land of the brilliant

Anime based on CGI has been criticized for years (I'm looking at you Overlord and Berserker).

However, this show proved that CGI anime has a future.

The show is amazing, to say the least, as the very characters we're following aren't made of flesh and bone... but crystals that can shatter into a million pieces.

This may seem like an arbitrary detail. But trust me, when you see it for yourself, you will understand how terrifyingly beautiful this anime looks.

You could even say that this show was a real gem! Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

1. Galaxy tatami

Now this show is equal parts soft and soothing, as well as fast and intricate. It even rhymes, so it must be true.

Artistic style of the showinstantly recognizable and using one color will make you feel like you are having an extraordinary experience, while on the other hand, the dialogue is definitely not suitable for beginners.

The show tends to go at a fast pace. And their approach to visual storytelling can change from episode to episode, always keeping you on your toes.

So, if you don't mind fast subtitles, this will probably be the most unique and intriguing anime you've ever watched.
