The best anime on Netflix right now!

15. Food Wars! Shokugeki no Suma

You know that feeling when you eat food so delicious that you think about taking off your clothes and having an orgasm! In real life, this never happens; but it happens in Food Wars! The show centers around Yukihira Soma, a teenager with a passion for cooking who has helped his father in his restaurant as a sous chef since childhood. However, when his father closes the shop and leaves for Europe to hone his culinary skills, he enrolls Soma in the Totsuki Culinary Academy, an elite culinary school for the greatest teenage chefs in Japan, where the acceptance rate is only 10%. Watch the show as Soma takes on the challenge of battling the school's best chefs to prepare mouth-watering dishes that will tear the clothes of anyone who eats them.

14. Overlord

Overlord is one of the best isekai anime that will take you to the virtual reality world of Yggdrasil. It's the final hour of the game and the servers will be down soon. However, Momonga, a powerful wizard and leader of the dark guild Ainz Ooal Gown, decides to spend his final minutes in the game as the servers begin to go down. But despite the time running out and the servers shutting down, he was surprised to realize that he was fully conscious, and what's more, the NPCs seemed to have developed their own personalities. The situation is confusing, but Momonga gathers his loyal servants to explore and take over this new world, and to find out if other players are in the same predicament as he is now!

13 Assassination Class

This is one of my favorite anime shows of all time because it combines every genre you can imagine such as action, comedy, drama, romance and more. Once you start watching Assassination Classroom, you won't be able to quit without completing it and you'll want more. The series has a unique plot in which a class of students are tasked with killing their new teacher before he blows up the Earth because he has already blown the moon in half. Their teacher is an octopus-like alien who is invulnerable, can move at Mach 20, can regenerate, and has a number of other superhuman abilities. What follows is a series of failed assassination attempts where students try to kill their teacher while he takes a class of lower ranked students and teaches them to the best of his ability and makes them some of the smartest students on the entire campus. I can't recommend this anime enough, so please watch it right now and you won't regret it!

12. Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden revolves around a young girl who shares a name with the series that was previously used as a killing machine in war. Now that the war is over and her hands have been replaced with metal prosthetics, she must learn to reintegrate into society by taking a job as a writer. The story is pretty sweet as Violet continues to grow and learn about the complexity of human emotions, and the amazing animation makes it one of the best anime shows of the year!

11. AJIN: half-human

Ajins are mysterious immortal people who first appeared on the battlefields in Africa about 17 years ago. They were soon labeled as threats due to their power and immortality, and whenever an ajin is found in society, they are captured and placed in custody. Kei Nagai is a high school student who is studying to be a doctor and knows very little about Ajins; but when he learns that he is alone himself, he flees before the authorities capture him. However, the other Ajins are closer than he thinks, and they plan to fight back against the torment, and Kei must choose a side!

10. Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is one of the most successful anime shows that brings the magical world into the 21st century, giving it a much needed twist. The show focuses on a group of female students who gain powers and become "witches" to fight evil "witches" after a chance encounter with a mysterious entity. However, things are not as simple as they seem, because if the girls fall into despair, they will turn into the very monsters they fight.

9. The catastrophic life of Saiki K.

You might think that being a strong psychic means that your life will be much better than that of everyone in the world, but this is not the case with Saiki Kusuo. He is the most powerful clairvoyant with powers ranging from teleportation, telepathy, x-ray vision and more - but he hates being the center of attention and does everything in his power to avoid drama. However, he becomes embroiled in other people's problems as he is constantly surrounded by colorful people who pull him into the real world. This life comedy anime is a mix of 5 minute episodes showing how Kusuo strives to lead a normal daily life; but I can not!

8 Devilman: Crybaby

Devilman: Crybaby is based on the classic Go Nagai manga and is one of the amazing hits of the year. However, I'm just warning you up front that this show may not be suitable for everyone to watch as it has a lot of nudity, gore, violence and stuff that a lot of you might not like. However, if you're a fan of anime that focuses on more than just good storytelling; but also has weird but awesome character designs and outrageous violence, this is the title you need to watch. The show centers on Akira, an apprentice and crybaby who bonds with a powerful devil named Amon and somehow gains control of his powers while remaining human. He, along with his friends Ryo, continues to fight the devils with incredible destructive power; and the climax of the show is definitely something you don't want to miss!

7. Gurren Lagann

The only mecha anime show on the list, Gurren Lagann is one of the best anime on Netflix that you need to watch during your next drinking session. The show begins in underground cities on Earth and ends in outer space by the end of the show. Follow the story of Simon and his surrogate brother, Kamina, who live in an underground city as they stumble upon and take control of mechas to fight the enemies they face. The show features some of the best fight scenes and the ending is one of the most epic battles you will love for sure!

6. Academy of Little Witches

Little Witch Academia actually started out as a short film that was released in 2015 and later released as a Netflix original show. The anime is set at the Luna Nova Witchcraft Academy, which trains young witches and focuses on Akko Kagari, who enters the academy despite having a non-magical background. Despite facing many hardships along the way, Akko rises above all and begins to find her place in the magical world, thanks to the discovery of a relic left behind by a famous witch and her idol, the Shiny Chariot.

5. Kakegurui

Kakegurui is one of the latest anime shows from Netflix Original and has already become quite popular due to its unique and captivating storyline! The show focuses on a new translator, Yumeko Jabami, from Hyakkau Private Academy, where the students are the children of the richest people in the world. The academy is just like other regular academies in a day, teaching students everything from languages, history and the like to prepare them for the real world; but at night it turns into a gambling den, teaching them the art of handling money and manipulating people. Yumeko Jabami is a beautiful new student who seems naive at first, but has an almost insane way of gambling where she gambles for the thrill and doesn't really care about winning!

4. One Punch Man

A show that breaks all stereotypes and introduced many people to the world of anime. One-Punch Man is basically a parody of sorts as it makes fun of every other anime show where the main characters are insanely defeated and able to defeat all of their enemies. This show gives us Saitama as the protagonist, who is so overwhelmed from the start that he can defeat everyone with a single punch and not take any damage at all. The plot feels boring as the hero doesn't have any problems, but he does a really good job of showing us how he copes with everyday life, and he's bored insanely that he can't find any real problems due to his overwhelming strength. If you haven't seen the show then this is the best anime on Netflix not to be missed. Watch it now as the second season of the series has also been announced!

3. Attack on titans

This anime is not for the faint of heart as it has a lot of gore in it. However, this is one of the best anime shows that everyone needs to watch! The series focuses on the ongoing battle between the Titans (giant creatures) and the remaining humans who are trying to survive in what is left of the world. There are many twists and turns in this story, as it's not just about humans fighting colossal titans, but much more, as well as new mysteries to be revealed as the story progresses.

2 Castlevania

Castlevania is another Netflix-produced anime show that is a must-watch if you like stories featuring Dracula! The show centers on Count Dracula who vows revenge on the people of Wallachia after they frame his wife for witchcraft and burn her alive at the stake; and Trevor Belmont, the last of the monster-hunting clan who leads the battle against Dracula and his army of demonic creatures. Aside from the war between man and monster, there are romantic elements to the story, and Dracula is also portrayed as a sympathetic villain mourning the death of his wife rather than an evil who just wants to plunge the world into darkness. In the first season of the series, there are only 4 episodes, which allows you to quickly discern the binge.

1 Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

No anime list would be complete without mentioning Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood as it is one of the most popular games of all time. If you ever want to get your friends into an anime show, then you should recommend them to start with this as everything about it - the story, the characters and their development, the twists, the graphics, the action sequences and everything else - is perfect. So, if you haven't watched the series or want to watch it again, then all of its episodes are available on Netflix. Embark on a journey with the Elric brothers as they try to find a solution to reclaim what they lost in a failed alchemy experiment and save the world in the process!
