10 Indecent Proposal (1993)

Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson play the role of a loving couple, David and Diana, who are going through hard times and their love for each other is tested in a moment of desperation. Wealthy businessman John (Robert Redford) offers the couple $1 million in exchange for a one-night stand with Diana. After much thought, the couple agrees because they really need the money, however, as the months go by, the knowledge that his wife and John were together drives David crazy, eventually pushing her into John's arms.

The questionable theme of John "buying" Diana for the evening (and only asking David's permission, not hers) has always been criticized, and the film received poor reviews upon release. But "Indecent Proposal" became a hit and to this day is a cautionary tale of desperation and the consequences of one's actions.

Scandal Notes is a tragic story not only about trusting the wrong people, but also about the potentially dire consequences an affair can have on a family and the people involved. Both Blanchett and Dench were nominated for Oscars for their roles.
