The newest versions of Android already have this feature built in, so Bouncer is slowly becoming obsolete. It's still a good option for people with Android versions below 10.

1Weather: Forecasts, Widgets, Snow Alerts & Radar

Price: free / $1.99.

1Weather is arguably the best weather app out there. It features a simple paginated design that shows the current weather, up to 12 weeks forecast, radar, and other fun stats. Along with that, you get a pretty decent set of easily customizable widgets and the standard stuff like severe weather notifications and a radar so you can see oncoming storms. Perhaps its best feature is its minimalist design, which only shows the weather and more. The user interface is easy to navigate and interesting weather facts are the cherry on top. The free version has all the features with ads. A $1.99 fee removes ads. The rest of the two versions work the same. Most will also probably enjoy a range of interesting weather facts when you open the app.

Google Drive

Price: free / $1.99-$299.99 per month.

Google Drive is cloud storage available for Android where all new users get 15 GB free forever after signing up. Of course, you can buy more if needed. What makes Google Drive so special is the set of Android apps attached to it. These include Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Photos, Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Keep. Between office apps, the Photos app (which allows unlimited photo and video backups), and Keep Notes for taking notes, you have apps for just about everything you need to do in terms of productivity. Some of the features of these applications include real-time collaboration, deep sharing features, and compatibility with Microsoft Office documents.

Google Maps and Waze

Price: Is free

Google Maps actually owns the navigation app scene and remains one of the best apps for Android. It receives frequent, almost weekly updates that seem to only add to its incredibly extensive list of existing features. Beyond basic functionality, Google Maps gives you access to points of interest, traffic data, directions to things like rest stops or gas stations, and they even let you have offline maps (temporarily albiet). If you add to that the Waze experience, which includes many of its own features, you won't need another navigation app. Ever. Google also owns and operates Waze. It is unique and interesting unlike Google Maps and we highly recommend it as well.

Google Assistant / Google Feed / Google Search

Price: Is free

This is a very powerful application. It also works on most Android devices. You simply download the app and then turn it on. From there, you can ask him whatever you want. It also supports many commands. You can control the light, ask about population control, and he can even solve simple math problems for you. There are many products such as Google, Bose QC II Bluetooth Headphones, Home and Chromecast that further expand the functionality. There is also a second Google Assistant app for those who need a quick launch icon on their home screen. Hardware costs money, but Google Assistant is free.

Password Manager LastPass

Price: free / $12 per year.

LastPass is one of the must-have apps for Android. It is a password manager that allows you to store your credentials safely and securely. On top of that, it can help you generate nearly impossible passwords to use on your accounts. All of this is controlled by a master password. It has cross-platform support so you can use it on computers, mobile devices, tablets, etc. E. There are others, but LastPass always feels one step ahead. Plus, the premium version is inexpensive. You can also take LastPass Authenticator with it for added security. There are other options for great password managers here if you're looking for more options. However, we like that LastPass is a bit friendlier and more secure (usually), especially with its additional authentication app.

Microsoft SwiftKey

Price: Is free

The Microsoft SwiftKey Keyboard is one of the most powerful and customizable third-party keyboards available. It hit the market a few years ago with a predictive engine unlike any other keyboard, and the app has grown a lot over the years. This is a free download and you can purchase themes for it if you like. Other features include a dedicated row of numbers, SwiftKey Flow that lets you type with gestures, support for multiple languages, syncing your library across devices, and more. It's about as good as with the keyboard. It's true that Microsoft owns SwiftKey now, but so far they haven't managed to mess it up. Gboard, Google's keyboard app, is also exceptionally good and easily takes SwiftKey's place on this list.

Nova Launcher

Price: free / $4.99.

Initially, we did not intend to include launchers in this list. Nova Launcher seems to go beyond the usual launchers. It's been around for years, constantly being updated, and thus has never been a great option to replace a launcher. It comes with a lot of features including the ability to backup and restore your home screen settings, icon theming for all your Android apps, lots of customization items for the home screen and app drawer, and more. You can even make it look like Pixel Launcher if you want. If you upgrade to the premium version, you can use gesture controls, unread message icons for apps, and icon swipe actions. Those who are looking for something simpler can try Lawnchair Launcher, Hyperion Launcher, and Rootless Launcher. Of course, we have a list of the best Android launchers with even more options.

Podcast & Radio Addict

Price: free / $3.99.

Podcast Addict is a great podcast app for podcast fans. Almost every podcast you can think of is featured here. In addition, it has a simple and efficient user interface, many organizational features, many playback and download functions, and a paid premium version. You can browse podcasts by category or search for them individually. You can also set download rules, create playlists easily, and it supports both Chromecast and SONOS as well as Android Auto and Wear OS. The user interface is not the most elegant we've seen. However, the app makes up for it by hitting literally every other field we could think of. Pocket Casts, Doggcatcher, and CastBox are other great options in this area, and we have a list of even more great podcast apps.

Poweramp music player

Price: Free trial / $4.99.

Poweramp is one of the most popular and functional local music players on Android. It has almost every feature, including support for high resolution audio, Android Auto, an equalizer, smooth anti-aliasing, and support for almost any audio codec you can find. It even supports devices like the LG V60 and its Quad DAC. The user interface requires a bit of learning, but this is one of the best music players with additional themes on the Google Play store. There are other great music apps here as well, but perhaps the best is the Poweramp title, which can be lost. Poweramp also has an equalizer app (Google Play link) in early access if you're in need of a better equalizer app.

Android Pulse SMS or Messages

Price: free / $10.99 once / $0.99 per month.

There are tons of great SMS apps out there. However, two stand above the rest. These are Android pulse SMS and messages. Pulse SMS has themes, GIF support, password-protected conversations, a blacklist for spammers, dual SIM support, and more. Android Messages is a bit more basic, but simple and gets the job done. Both of these apps also offer SMS messaging from your desktop. Pulse charges either a monthly subscription or a one-time $10.99 fee, while Android Messages is free. Pulse SMS uses a server structure while Android Messages broadcasts your messages live. Both methods have their pros and cons, but they are both still great options for accessing your texts from anywhere. Textra is another great option if you don't need desktop texting, and you can find other great SMS apps here. Pulse SMS also went open source in early 2020 and was acquired by Maple Media in late 2020.

Solid explorer

Price: Free trial / $2.99.

Browsing files is something everyone inevitably has to (or wants to) do, so you can do it with the powerful, fantastic file browser. Solid Explorer is almost as good as it is in the file explorer application area. It includes Material Design, archiving support, support for the most popular cloud services, and even some advanced features for advanced users such as support for FTP, SFPT, WebDav, and SMB/CIFS. It looks great, is incredibly stable, and just performs well. There is a 14-day free trial with a price of $2.99 at the end. This is by far the best Android file manager for most people.

Tasker and IFTTT

Price: $2.99 and free respectively.

Tasker is a great app if you have the patience to learn how to use it. What it does is allow users to create their own commands and then use them in various places. There are many applications that support Tasker and you can even use Tasker to create very complex commands for NFC tags. It's hard to really explain what this app is capable of because it can do so many things. Among the apps supported, the plugins you add, and the sheer number of things you can do, there aren't many apps as useful as this one. IFTTT is another great automation app. In some cases, it may even be better than Tasker due to its simplicity and wide range of uses. Tasker is also available for free as part of the Google Play Pass. There are other great tools and utility apps for Android, but none of them can match Tasker and IFTTT.

TickTick

Price: free / $27.99 per year.

TickTick is not as popular as other to-do list apps. However, he may be the best. It covers the basics like recurring tasks, reminders, push notifications, various organizational features and categories. The app also allows you to share tasks and entire categories with other people. This makes it ideal for family use, small work groups, or similar groups. It's also great for things like grocery lists, honey lists, or any other list. You get all the features for free, albeit with some limitations, like two reminders per task (premium makes this infinite). It's also a great Wunderlist alternative. Some other great options in this area include Todoist and Microsoft To Do. Yes, we also have a complete list of the best list apps.

Price: free / $12.99 +

We generally do not recommend streaming services to people. In the end, everyone has their own preferences, and there are tons of great options. However, we really like the combination of YouTube Music and YouTube. For one price, you get unlimited YouTube Music with more than enough tracks to compete with Spotify and Apple Music. However, you also get ad-free YouTube as well as background video playback and offline downloading. This one-two bundle is right there with the $12.99/month bundle of Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ as one of the best video and audio streaming deals out there. In fact, both of these combinations should cover almost all of your video and audio streaming needs. Our only complaint is that the music quality on YouTube Music is below average. Audiophiles may want to check out Hi-Fi options like Tidal or Deezer, even if these services come at an additional cost, or one of these music streaming apps.

Zedge

Price: free / $0.99 per month / $4.99 per year.

Last but not least on our list is Zedge. This is a wallpapers, ringtones, notifications and alarms app that gives you an incredible amount of options to customize the most basic parts of your device. In addition to a comprehensive collection of items, Zedge also promotes various items for the holiday seasons, making it easy to customize your phone for Christmas, Halloween, and other holidays. It's not 100% perfect. It has random bugs and really annoying ads. Zedge Premium is a new initiative to provide premium content at a reasonable price. You watch ads or complete surveys to earn Zedge credits. There are other great ringtone apps and great wallpaper apps too. However, Zedge is the only one that does both reliably.
