How to wear tights - tips that all tights wearers should know

Tights will be a great addition to the image. They are elegant, versatile, comfortable and immediately unite any look. Tights will instantly add a laconic look to your look. You can easily incorporate them into almost any look, whether it's formal, casual, professional, or anything in between. Plus, they're perfect for the off-season because they keep your feet warm in cold weather without being suffocating in hot weather.

If you don't already have at least three pairs of black tights somewhere in the back of a closet or at the bottom of a dresser drawer, it's time to go shopping. Tights are both fashionable and comfortable; they are too valuable as a wardrobe item to be discarded. If you've never considered wearing tights with anything other than a ballet leotard, or are looking for ways to spice up your pantyhose outfit options, look no further. It only takes a little creativity to add tights to your look for almost any occasion.

1. Choose a pattern

While black tights are a wardrobe essential, you don't always have to opt for plain black tights. You can find a wide selection of tights in a variety of patterns that can enhance the neutral feel if you want to add a little more interest to your outfit.

When you decide to wear patterned tights, keep them at the center of your look. Keep the rest of your clothing relatively neutral and don't try to mix other patterns into your outfit. If you've chosen a bright solid color for your tights, make sure you tie it in with the rest of your outfit by matching the color of your tights with the pattern color of the other clothes you're wearing. Avoid mixing multiple bright solid colors in different parts of your look to avoid costume clutter.

2. Increase the size

Plus size clothes can be cute on their own, but they can also look awkward and give you a shapeless look. Plus, it can be hard to muster up the courage to go out in just one sweater, no matter how big.

The perfect solution to the problem with plus size clothing is tights. Pair the tights with a giant tee and knee high boots, or with a large chunky knit sweater and booties. Tights will automatically make your oversized outfit more collected and eliminate any sloppiness. Plus, they lengthen, slim and define your legs so you don't look shapeless.

3. Go professional

Don't count tights as a casual office look. Not only do tights dress professionally and add a professional touch to your look, but they also make sitting in cold office chairs wearing a short skirt much more comfortable. You can practically add pantyhose to any professional attire you already wear to work. It is important to remember that your gaze must be balanced so as not to look too straight up and down.

Add some balance to your look by pairing tights with a high-waisted fitted skirt and loose-sleeved blouse. Or wear a loose-fitting blazer over a fitted dress with tights underneath. As for shoes, tights can be combined with anything from simple ballet flats to stilettos. Tights will automatically enhance your look and easily complement your look with semi-professional shoes.

4. Try Textures

Tights are available not only with one pattern, but also with a wide variety of textures. Textured tights often have cutouts in the nylon material that create patterns ranging from floral designs to cat or skull designs.

The best thing about textured tights is that they are creative and unique, yet subtle. If you don't want to go all out with a pair of patterned tights with a tight geometric print, try textured tights instead. As a general rule, you can pair textured tights with many other patterns or colors without creating an overly loaded look. However, if you want your tights to really stand out, try to keep the rest of your outfit reasonably neutral. For a more subtle finish, wear textured tights under ripped jeans so that only a small part of the pattern shows through.

5. Wear shorts.

If you want to create an urban chic look in your look, pair tights with shorts. It may seem a bit odd to wear tights and shorts in the same outfit, but this unusual pairing actually adds an extra dimension to your look.

Try pairing high-waisted shorts with a rounded hem, black tights, black boots, and a cropped tee with a pattern. Lighter colored shorts usually look better with black tights than dark colored shorts. The light color of the shorts creates a contrast that adds harmony and interest to your look.

6. Put on your overalls.

Jumpsuits and tights are trendy and simple pieces that every girl needs in her wardrobe. Why not connect them together?

Try a jumpsuit with patterned sleeves and a loose fit over tights for a balanced look with a flirty boho-chic vibe. Add boho-inspired accessories like beaded dangle earrings or dangle necklaces to style your casual fashion look.

7. Make it monochrome

Create a solid color look with tights and a matching pair of shoes. Wearing black tights with black shoes (especially with shoes with any heel) will instantly slim down and elongate your legs, giving the illusion that they actually walk for miles.

Try wearing black tights with black block heel boots and a patterned loose dress for a cute and feminine look. Or wear black tights with black knee high boots, shorts and a lace-up tee for a statement edge look.

Wear them with skirts, shorts, blazers or an oversized sweater and nothing else. When it comes to using tights in your everyday wardrobe, the possibilities are endless. Don't be afraid to get creative and believe in the versatility of tights; Chances are they won't let you down.
