6 ways to keep cockroaches and ants away

It is difficult to get rid of pests like cockroaches and ants, but these methods will help keep them at bay and keep them from turning on.

1. Clean regularly

As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. We believe in it when it comes to pest control. Do your best to keep things and the house clean! Cockroaches and ants are attracted to food debris, especially leftovers, scraps, crumbs, and even grease. So make sure you:

• Wipe down the stove and kitchen counters every night

• Do dishes every day - don't leave dirty dishes in the sink overnight!

• Sweep and mop floors at home regularly

• take out the trash daily

2. Close any visible cracks or holes

Cockroaches and ants can crawl into even the smallest places, going through tunnels and making their own passages. Give them no chance by sealing cracks and holes anywhere in your home. It could be a small crack in your kitchen slab, a hole between the mosaic tiles in your bathroom, or a gap in your laundry room wall tiles, seal them up with an industrial caulk (also known as caulk).

Of course, we recommend using professional special cockroach control products in trusted online stores, such as SavenMart - https://sevenmart.com.ua/g15614906-sredstva-tarakanov-muravev.

3. Fix water leaks

Cockroaches live in dark, moisture-rich clumps. Moisture attracts cockroaches. That's why you often see them scurrying around under cabinets, dark corners, and under the sink. Fix water leaks by fixing leaks in pipes. These resistant cockroaches can survive for months without food, but only without water. So don't keep stagnant water indoors - this includes not watering houseplants.

4. Use dehumidifiers

Singapore is a humid country. Therefore, even if we manage to solve the problem of leaks and solve it, we will not be able to control the climate and change it, right? Counter this with dehumidifiers. Place dehumidifiers in cupboards, under the stove, under the sink, and anywhere you think cockroaches and ants can hide. Keeping the space as dry as possible will make the environment unacceptable for these pests to live.

5. Draw a chalk line

Ants and chalk just don't mix. And that's because ants that stumble over chalk cover their chests and abdomens with chalk. The minerals in chalk, namely talc, can be deadly to ants. Take a pack of chalk and draw a thick, thick line around the entrances where you spot the ants to reflect them. Repeat as many times as needed. This is usually used in conjunction with another elimination method to ensure optimal destruction.

Pro tip: You can use the same chalk to draw classic designs on the front porch or along the hallway, all for the sake of nostalgia. And teach your children the wonders of the classics.

6. Prepare a disinfectant solution using household bleach.

Sodium hypochlorite, or commonly known as household bleach, is a reliable solution for disinfecting your home. When used correctly, it will also keep cockroaches and ants from moving across the surfaces it has cleaned and wiped down. Just mix one part household bleach with nine parts water to make your own disinfectant solution. You can transfer it to an aerosol can for easy use. Spray on the countertop and wipe with a kitchen towel. Do this regularly and you will no longer see ants crawling around. If all else fails, you know it's time to call in the experts. Don't try to kill cockroaches yourself or you may end up with more of them at home. If this is not done properly, a half-dead cockroach can release its egg sacs and therefore exacerbate the infestation. It is difficult to remove an entire colony of ants hidden somewhere deep in a crevice, or to completely kill a cockroach infestation, so this job is best left to pest exterminators. That being said, we wish you the best of luck in saying goodbye to these heinous intruders. See you never, we say!
