Top 20 Best High School Anime. Part 2

The high school anime genre has established itself so well and has become so popular that the list of “best high school anime” needs to be expanded several times to pay tribute to it. Most of the supposed viewers of the anime are in middle and high school, so naturally many anime series use this as the basis for even horror, sci-fi and fantasy series.

High school anime characters can do anything from playing ping-pong to saving the world. With that in mind, it's time to add five more episodes to this list, even twenty in total.

Don't Miss: Top 20 Best High School Anime. Part 1

10. Little things in life (Nichijou)

This school comedy is really wacky and wacky, even by anime standards! You never know what you'll get with every episode of this anime, and none of the characters are as simple as they seem. Except perhaps for Yuuko, who mostly reacts to the madness around her (and also struggles to learn).

Around her are classmates such as Mio, the spirited manga writer in training, not to mention Nano, a robot girl with a huge grip on her back. Don't forget the genius professor and her talking cat Sakamoto!

9. Azumanga Daioh!

This is one of the top high school animes and manga is a must for any collection. This series looks laid back compared to some of the others on this list, but it holds up. Meet six mainstream girls who each annoy each other, tackle meaningless problems, dream of a different life, and run for a school festival. The tall, stoic Sakaki hides a soft cat-loving side, while Tiyo is a child genius who is still a little naive despite his mental faculties.

Their class teacher, Yukari Tanizaki, is dumber than half of her students, and Mr. Kimura continues to shout all kinds of inappropriate things. But, nevertheless, it is very pleasant to watch how all these girls grow up together and Azumanga Daioh! each graduate says goodbye to the school with love. Where will life catch them next?

8. Ouran High School Host Club

This Shoujo comedy series takes place in Uranus High School, where the main woman, Haruhi Fujioka, accidentally breaks a valuable vase. To make things right, she joins the hosts' club where handsome boys live and is sucked into what is called a reverse harem.

It's all fun and games, and this series isn't afraid to mildly poke fun at the various conventions and stereotypes of the Shojo genre. And it is quite possible to see that the female role is mistaken for a boy several times.

7. Five Brides (The Quintessential Quintuplets)

This is another harem anime, and it swaps out the magical girls for a set of five identical sisters with conflicting personalities. The male is Futaro Uesagi, a simple but highly intelligent boy who is asked to train the five Nakano sisters who are struggling with their grades. The hilarity ensues as Futaro tries to cope with these frantic and uncooperative sisters, although he rests when they begin to appreciate him and what he has to offer them.

Even more agonizing is the mystery that Futaro's sister is getting married! It was clear from the start that Futaro would marry one of these girls, but not any. The next season may reveal the bride (so to speak) once and for all.

6. Assassination Classroom

This is no ordinary high school. She cannot be cursed and there is no body exchange or gambling, but there is a large yellow alien, Koro-sensei. He is an invader who wants to doom the entire Earth, but he also wants to teach.

As such, students in his class must use specially designed weapons to try and kill him, but this is easier said than done. And they still have lectures, homework and exams, among other things.

5. Toradora! (Toradora!)

This high school comedy features a tiny but tough girl named Taiga Aisaka who has a solid reputation for kicking ass. Meanwhile, she suddenly turns out to be a friend with Ryuuji, who, of course, looks scary, but in fact, he won't hurt the fly either. First, Taiga and Ryuuji make a deal for mutual benefit, as they each have a crush on the other's best friend.

But this love square gets even more confusing when, you guessed it, Taiga and Ryuuji get closer together instead! They later run away together and need time to sort out their lives.

4. Feigned love (Nisekoi)

This high school rom-com is the epitome of Romeo and Juliet, and this time we've got a son and daughter from two rival crime families! On the one hand, we get Raku Ichijou from the terrifying yakuza family and Chitoge Kirisaku from the mafia family. Chitoge moved to Japan for school, moving from the United States (she is half American), and immediately her family and Raku arrange for them to meet.

Both young “lovers” are stunned and do not like to be in the spotlight, but they are trying to at least appear in public. The situation becomes even more confusing when love rivals manifest in power, and there is a mystery which girl gave Cancer the locket he now wears around his neck ...

3. Form of voice (A Silent Voice)

The list of good high school anime is definitely not complete without this teary anime in it. The series has its own funny moments, but ultimately it's a dramatic and heartbreaking story about bullying, forgiveness, self-acceptance and more.

In 6th grade, Shota Ishida (left) brutally mocked his deaf classmate Shoko Nishimiya (right), and years later he suffocates from guilt and self-loathing. But he does not give up: he wants to fix everything, and the audience will soon find out if Shoko is in the mood to forgive her tormentor or not.

2. Great Teacher Onizuka

It's an old series, but that just means it's a classic. This time, we see things from the perspective of Eikichi Onizuki, a tough gangster who becomes a high school teacher so he can fight with the ladies.

This is a rather selfish motive, but he soon becomes an exemplary friend and mentor for his many students. He cannot come to terms with how patronizing and tough the school system is, so he tries to communicate with his students and educate their minds on his own terms. Will he succeed? Watch and find out!

1. Fruits Basket

This is the Shojo World Juggernaut. Fruit Basket featured a multi-year manga and an anime in the 2000s. Now there is a fresh reboot of the anime in high definition, and viewers can enjoy the Fruit Basket story like never before. Orphan Toru Honda is a kind and sympathetic girl who is unlucky until the mysterious and reclusive Sokhma family accepts her.

Surprise: they are all cursed by the Chinese zodiac and can transform into animals! Now, Tohru is trying to balance her high school life with a complex web of budding relationships, not to mention fighting the curse of Sokhma and the brutal head of the Akito family. This is a shoujo series for centuries, and a must-watch for fans of high school anime and romance.
