TOP 10 motorcycles for 2018

This year is incredible with a dizzying array of cool motorcycle models around the world. There has also been a huge shift towards the mainstream. Major manufacturers began to create new individual programs and competitions, and began selling retro and conventional motorcycles with "traditional designs".

Even if you look closely, you can understand that this year it was difficult to identify any specific trend. Either way, this could be an anti-trend: different ways of building motorcycles are made without any dominant types.

It is worth noting that interest in scrambler motorcycles has increased in comparison with cafe racers, which have finally ceased to be relevant. Trackers seem to be starting to gain in popularity, but not much yet, despite the fact that there is a lot of media attention on motorcycle racing. The bobbers are confidently in the lead. The interest appears to be sparked by the Indian Scout and Triumph Bonneville, and the Bobbers plant itself contributed to this.

This year's top 10 is probably the most versatile list. All information provided below is based on people's pages on the Internet, inbound links and information sharing on social networks. A comparison is made based on the time of creation of motorcycles and, we can say that the motorcycles that appeared in January are now on a par with those that came out a couple of weeks ago.

We express our respect to the people who modeled and created these motorcycles, as well as the photographers who captured them.

10. Honda CB750 by Brian Moses

When Brian picked up the rusty $ 50 CB750 model, he planned to take some of the parts and ditch the rest. But then he changed his mind, and so now we see one of the most popular motorcycles of 2017. The engine was knocked out to 836cc. cm, the front suspension is from the CBR900RR Fireblade, and most of the rear is from the CBR600F4i. And yes, what is that weird extra tube at the front of the bezel? It is an oil tank, chrome plated according to the stainless steel exhaust system.

9.Vagabund BMW R100R

With a one-piece monocoque body and minimalist styling, this Austrian bike is far superior to the Sano - it deserves a spot in Rodder's Magazine. Designer Paul Brauchart and mechanical engineer Philippe Rabl took on the left field, and the metal work (done by Bernard Naumann of Blechmann) is truly outstanding. Even a regular compact muffler is a work of art that you won't find even on high-end superbikes.

8. Royal Enfield Bullet by Thrive

Royal Enfield is currently on the move, as are Jakarta founders Indra Pratama and Barata Dwiputra. The Bullet 350 is one of Thrive's more discreet builds, but the older scramblers are incredibly attractive too. Thanks to the proper fenders, a very comfortable seat and quality construction, you can enjoy it to the fullest without the usual bruises and bumps.

7. Shanghai Customs eCub

This is a sign of the past: the electric bike is in the top 10, because even the Honda Cub itself is based on it. Shanghai boss Matthew Waddick has created an innovation: many motorcycle parts are made in China, and he used local knowledge to redesign the humble Cub into a stylish city bike. The eCub may look retro, but with three types of regenerative braking and a full array of LED lighting, it can only remotely resemble a retro look.

6. Diamond Atelier Mark II Series

Tom Konecny and Pablo Strigleder of Diamond Atelier made the style as simple as possible with full detail. The business sense is just as poignant: They have packed elements of the BMW R-Series into a limited edition "Mark II" motorcycle. Each bike gets a new body, redesigned suspension and 320mm brake discs with 6-piston Tokico calipers. It's worth noting that this is a great idea.

5. The Buell "FrankenBlast"

It all came from an assistant carpenter named Alex, who emigrated from Romania to Chicago and set up a small workshop in the corner of his apartment. All that remains of the Blast are its engine, carburetor, and front frame half. And anyone who can bring the front of the beam onto the Buell deserves a medal.

4. BMW Alpha Landspeeder

Cool motorcycles often have cool origin stories. And they are not much better than the story of this incredible intercontinental collaboration. After Turkish designer Mehmet Doruk Erdem posted his stunning concept online, American motorcycle designer Mark Macro Atkinson took it and turned it into reality. It happened completely by accident. Atkinson is one of those guys who can build an engine from scratch using a piece of metal. The result blew up the internet and even left a word in the design world.

3. The Mutant by Ironwood Custom Motorcycles

Old BMWs are ideal donors for new builds: tough, well-engineered and stocked with plenty of spare parts. The downside to this popularity is "identity", but Arjan van den Boom and colleagues Eric and Sam have come up with something completely new for the R80. Aggressive corner lines grab attention and if you look closely, consider every detail. Particularly chic is the vintage Porsche 356 shade on the Zundapp tank, inspired by the design of the Singer car.

2. Hazan Motorworks KTM

In any other year, this model would have been number 1. KTM Max Hazan has received more information on the Internet and social media than any other major and well-known developer. The KTM 520 engine connects to a supercharger and everything else is handcrafted artificial mechanical craftsmanship. From the slender frame to the aluminum bodies and the gorgeous black nickel, Hazan's latest work is painfully great.

1. The Madboxer

Well, nobody expected that. Zeelander Marcel van Hujdonk spent five years building this incredible bike by running a turbocharged Subaru WRX engine in a custom-built frame. Power goes through a two-speed automatic transmission, and there's even a center-controlled front hub setup. This is the kind of construction that will test the ability of a professional engineer, but Marseille is a person who enjoys taking any challenge.

It was an amazing experience this year: some of the models came as a surprise in this top. Unfortunately, many great models such as Rough Crafts, Krugger, Heiwa and Craig Rodsmith did not make it here.

But everything is unpredictable, and, most likely, you are also excited, because no one knows what new and interesting 2018 will bring?
