15 weirdest and most unusual anime abilities

One of the joys of anime is the manifestation of a huge number of abilities.

Whether they are based on magic, ancient art, or learned purely through will and training, there seems to be no end to the unique and truly extraordinary powers that characters can possess.

The worlds we can visit in anime (and what we can experience, including powers) can sometimes be incredible.

Sometimes it happens for the wrong reasons.

So, here's our list of the weirdest abilities, superpowers, and quirks in all of anime.

15. Ai Mori - Turning the opponent into a fan of points

Anime: Law of Ueki (Ueki no Housoku)

The power of Ai Mori in this anime is not only strange in itself, but also requires an incredibly strange and contrived method to activate it.

You see, Ai can't activate the power by herself.

For it to work, her opponent must assume a very specific, endearing pose.

And when does it work? This makes this opponent… a points freak.

Yes, this power gives you a fetish secretary. But only if you somehow accidentally got into the right pose for it to work.

I think Ai Mori might have been better off not having powers like she did in the beginning of the anime.

14. Tohru Cleansing Braid

Anime: Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (Koboyashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon)

A dragon with the ability to transform into a girl is not the strangest part of this entry on the list.

No, it's another one of Toru Kobayashi's abilities that puts it here:

her salivaremoves stains .

While it's an endlessly useful ability as a maid, the image of her roaming around and spitting at whatever she intends to cleanse is something you would watch and have to do a double take on.

If it's stupid but works, it's not stupid - but it's a power that ranks high on the list of "supernatural powers" for good reason.

13. Tanjiro Kamado's sense of smell.
