Feature films about lesbians

Unfortunately, it's hard to find a good movie about lesbians. But as streaming services like Netflix become more mainstream, we're seeing more films in which lesbians, gays, and bisexuals fall in love, break up, or just dance and sing at a Midwestern high school prom. These films give viewers a chance to see the characters that have so often been left behind the scenes, just living their lives; these characters represent a segment of the population that Hollywood too often ignores.

According to GLAAD's 2020 Studio Responsibility Index, more LGBTQ+ characters were featured in studio-supported feature films last year than in any previous year. To get you started, check out these lesbian movies currently streaming on Netflix, from Oscar-nominated movies to straight-up rom-coms.
