Haikyuu!!is another volleyball-themed sports anime and might be one of the most popular anime at the moment. This story follows two characters who played volleyball on their school teams, Shoto Hinata and Tobio Kageyama. The two go head-to-head and swear they are each other's rivals, so it gets a little more complicated when they end up joining the same team in high school.

This sports anime is about how Hinata and Kageyama become themselves. Kageyama must learn to be part of the team and not the infamous King of the Court, while Hinata must work hard to achieve his goals of becoming the new Little Giant.

City boy Hachiken Yugo decided to change his own path and enroll in Oezo Agricultural High School in the countryside where he could live in a hostel learning all about farming and how to farm. He did this with the intention of leaving a very demanding race and doing well in a modern school and prep schools that really only care about test scores and class positions, but he found that farming was just as hard but far more rewarding.

A new versionFruit Basketis probably one of the greatest anime currently airing. With the third and final season coming out this spring, "Fruit basket» approaches the story of Tohru Honda, a high school student who ends up mixing with the cursed Soma family. Tohru helps all her new friends with a series of problems, and in doing so, learns more about herself and realizes things she never knew about herself.

Helping Soma solve their problems, she solves her own problems. The art and story are truly beautiful and make this shoujo coming of age anime a ten out of ten.

5. Whisper of the Heart

"Whisper of the Heart" is one of the obscure Studio Ghibli anime films about a girl at school who has no idea what her hobbies are and what she would like to do after. But once Shizuku realizes that she keeps seeing the same name in the books she checks in the library, Seiji Amasawa, Shizuku realizes that her passion lies in stories.

With the help of Seiji and her grandfather, Shizuku begins to explore this passion and decides to write her first novel and dreams of becoming an author while Seiji is studying to be a violin maker. The story is very sweet, with a beautiful love story and definitely a hidden Ghibli gem.

4. Gurren Lagann

While many may think ofGurrene Laganne as a shonen action/comedy anime made by Trigger, it's also the perfect coming of age story. At the beginning of the series, Simon is a young child who longs to see the surface again.

He, Yoko, and Kamina venture into the unknown together, and Simon is forced to learn to grow up rather quickly. The show even has a time skip where Simon becomes more of an adult and learns to believe in who Kamina believes in.

3.Hunter × Hunter

Although Gon and Killua remain children for most of the series, the story revolves heavily around both of them going through trial and error learning the right way to do things in order to achieve their goals. The two best friends come from completely different backgrounds but learn to work with each other and end up getting along great. They try to defeat enemy after enemy by staying true to themselves and knowing the powers deep within them.

2. Clannad

Clannadis another great example of an anime about growing up. While much of this story is sad and heartbreaking, it also has extremely uplifting themes and a happy ending. The story is about a male protagonist who learns life's lessons and how to overcome his own problems by helping his friends with very serious problems that each of them has.
