TOP-10 countries with the highest level of Russophobia

Russophobia is a term that means a negative attitude towards Russia and, in general, towards everything connected with Russian. For the first time, according to researchers, the term "Russophobia" was used by the poet Fyodor Tyutchev, who contrasted it with Pan-Slavism. And this term is still used today. In view of the international situation, many countries began to treat Russia and the Russian people with more hostility. And below will be a list of those countries in which Russophobia is most developed.

10. Azerbaijan

In the course of research, it was found that in textbooks on the history of Azerbaijan, one can very often find a prejudiced attitude towards Russia and the Russian people. With any mention of the Russian people, only negative epithets are used, such as: "cruel", "greedy" and so on. When enemies are mentioned, only Russian people use their images. From this we can conclude that children in Azerbaijan’s schools are propagandizing hatred of Russia. This research was carried out by a student at one of the University of Turkey.

9. Lithuania

The Baltic state of Lithuania began to express claims to Russia long ago. And according to a professor at Vilnius University, tensions between the two countries reached their peak during the Georgian-Russian conflict. Then, after an oil pipeline was built bypassing this state, they began to call it inconsistent with environmental standards and express other dissatisfaction with the pipeline.

8.Ukraine

Here the case with regard to Russophobia is twofold. Eastern Ukraine treats Russians much more positively than Western Ukraine. According to studies and surveys in the eastern part of the country, about 80% of people are ready to accept Russians as Ukrainian residents, and only 5% have a negative attitude towards them. In the western part, 20% of the respondents have a negative attitude towards Russia.

7. Latvia

Recently, Russophobia in Latvia has been increasing more and more. The inhabitants of this country from childhood, from school years, hear and become accustomed to the fact that Russians are cruel and aggressive. Many want to see Russia as a weak, destroyed country. In this Baltic state, a film called "Soviet History" was shot, which was named for its nature as propaganda of Russophobia. Moreover, he was offered to be shown in all schools.

6. Poland

Since childhood, many people in Poland are taught that Russia is an enemy. An important role was played by the permanent divisions of the territory of Poland, in which the USSR participated. Russophobia has become a real part of Polish culture. The Russian people are completely opposed to the Polish, and not in the brightest form. For the Poles, Russia is a country of aggression, slavery, anger and cruelty.

5. Czech Republic

The main reason for the hatred of the Czechs towards Russia is the suppression of the "Prague Spring", when in 1968 the USSR and the countries of the Warsaw Pact entered the territory of Czechoslovakia. And despite the fact that this happened back in the days of the USSR, the inhabitants of Czechoslovakia still have a complicated principle of perceiving Russians as enemies.

4. Finland

In Finland, Russophobia is also highly developed. Moreover, it is called the real problem of the Finns. The main reason for hatred towards Russia is considered to be two Russian-Finnish wars in the twentieth century, Tarja Halonen even stated this in 2006, when she was the leader of Finland. They also say that there is a special media channel in Finland that produces extremely negative news about Russia, exposing it in a bad light, talking only about murder, aggression and cruelty.

3. Georgia

Georgia's hatred and prejudice towards Russia has been going on for a very long time - about two centuries. Director Otar Ioseliani touched on the topic of Russophobia in the most understandable language, having slept about the fact that Russia poses a great danger not only for Georgia, but for the whole world; that now the bias is growing again into real hatred and a terrible attitude towards the Russian people.

2. Germany and Austria

In Germany and Austria, the tradition of Russophobia has persisted for a long time. Initially, it was associated with Slavophobia. Everything was aggravated by the complex of defeat in the Second World War. Then hatred of the Russian people began to be imposed on each generation, often putting them on the bad side. An important role is played by the German media, which write not the best articles about Russia.

1. USA

In the United States, the media and journalists have played a significant role in expressing their views against Russia and the Russian people in relatively large magazines. However, one of them said that Russia is being discredited on purpose so that this country does not interfere with the development of states. In 2005, a report on the observance of human rights was prepared, in which clearly excessive emphasis was placed on the freedom and rights of the Russian people.
