15 fake photos that fooled the whole world

Previously, you had to travel all over the world to see what it looks like. But that all changed when the first camera appeared and people started taking pictures. Do not misunderstand me. This is one of the most brilliant inventions of all time, and it has made our lives more colorful. View your Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki pages and present them without photos. How boring they would be!

But there is one problem with all the photographs in the world - people love to post fakes. In most cases, these are just silly jokes. However, sometimes they can serve as a propaganda tool. But one thing is for sure - people still believe in everything they see on the Internet (I know this is crazy!). Therefore, the network trolls constantly fool us. And we all know what wonders Photoshop can do.

I can imagine what the disappointment was when you met a girl from a dating site and realized that her pictures were not real (terrible, isn't it?). Well, let's take a look at some of the most epic snapshots in history, fooling even the best of us. I must admit that I myself fall for these cheap stuff from time to time. Also check out the article 10 incredible photos that look like Photoshop.

15. Giant skeleton

This photograph of a giant skeleton became a real discovery in the early 2000s. People from all over the world shared an incredible picture with each other and said that humanoid giants lived thousands of years ago and were extremely powerful. “They were very tall, large and very powerful. The giants could grab the trunk of a tree with their hands and pull it out by the roots, ”wrote the Indian monthly newspaper Hindu Voice. The publication also reported that the discovery was made by the Indian unit of the National Geographic team with the support of the Indian Army, since the action took place in the territory under the jurisdiction of the military. Incredibly, people believed this nonsense.

What was the motive of the creators of the fake? Expert David Mikkelson replies: “It's more like ringing a doorbell and running away. This is the easiest way to laugh at someone. " Yes, never believe what you read on the Internet.

14. Giant Angolan Spider

I bet we're all glad this photo turned out to be a fake! If this were true, I would prefer to fly off on a rocket into space and start my new life on Mars or in the Galaxy, where there are planets like ours.

Originally, the person who posted the picture said it was the largest eight-legged subspecies known as the giant Angolan spider. This terrible monster came to Texas from South America and ate dogs, cats, and other large local animals. To overwhelm this spider, you would need at least a couple of shots from a gun, so you can imagine what a powerful insect it is.

Texans, have you ever seen such critters next to you? Of course not, only if you do not want to spread this "duck" further throughout the world. I'm glad to announce that this photo is fake, and these creatures you can only see in films like Attack of the Spiders.

13. The biggest dog in the world

I'm sure you've seen Hercules before, the largest dog in the world. It turned into a real sensation when its owner posted a photo of him in which we see a dog walking next to a horse. Animal lovers from all over the world were dumbfounded, and Hercules became the most famous dog on the Internet of all time. Unfortunately, this is all a lie. Hercules is only a medium-sized dog, but his owner decided to fool naive simpletons and used Photoshop to make a monstrous monster out of the dog. To be honest, I myself fell for it. I believed until today that Hercules is the most gigantic dog in the world. My heart was broken because I am an animal lover and have always wanted to see him live.

There is also a feline analogue of Hercules - Snowflake. She was also an internet sensation 10 years ago. You can find her image on Google, Snowflake looks funny.

12. Leo Leo from MGM

Leo the Lion is one of the most epic animals in history. He is the mascot for the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film studio, and I'm sure you've seen him a thousand times before. But have you ever wanted to know how they captured the lion roaring on-screen on camera?

Well, this viral photo came out recently. People claim it was made at MGM while filming Leo the lion. A large number of activists were furious and accused the company of cruelty to animals. But I assure you, this is just a fake. On the right side of the photo, a lion is seen lying on the X-ray machine before the operation. Some smart trolls have edited the device in Photoshop so that it looks like an MGM stand. And the people, as usual, fell for the cheap.

11. Mermaid Kilauea

The mermaid Kalauea shocked everyone in the world. The audience believed for a moment in miracles. The original story says that the waves washed the water creature ashore on a Hawaiian beach, but when the locals found it, it was already dead. Naturally, the guy who discovered the mermaid sent her to a secret Australian laboratory for further research.

While the whole world was waiting for new news about the tailed maiden, some smart guys began their investigation. They learned that this is not a real mermaid, but only a work of art created by Juan Cabana. Yes, I must say, he cheated me too, and I say that as a compliment. If I were a director, I would hire Juan Cabana right now.

10. The Simpsons predicted Pokemon GO

Do you remember how quickly the popularity of Pokemon GO gained momentum in 2016. It was one of the grandest games ever, and many predicted that it would somehow change the world. Of course, all the hysteria ended after a few months, and only the most passionate fans still play it.

However, during the Pokemon Mania period, this image began to spread on the World Wide Web. He first appeared on the news site Reddit. One user stated that The Simpsons predicted Pokemon GO long before the game was released. Of course, the masses have lost their minds. Comments like "Creators of the Cartoon - Geniuses from the Future" flooded the web again (remember how the series predicted Trump's victory). Unfortunately, I must inform you that photography is a hoax. In the original in the series "How I spent my strumming vacations" this picture was only the right hand, and the left hand with the phone was drawn in Photoshop.

9.Second before the 9/11 terrorist attack

September 11, 2001 was the largest terrorist attack in US history. There are so many different and conflicting stories surrounding these tragic events that some people believe that the American government is responsible for it. I know it sounds crazy, so I won't discuss it.

This picture appeared a few days after the terrorist attack. Its owner stated that the captured guy was some random tourist who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Strange, but the public believed that the plane in the background was the one that crashed into the World Trade Center. I know this is crazy. The likelihood that the camera remained intact after the crash tends to zero. There are also a million other mistakes in the picture, but as I said, people believed it.

8. Photo from Mars

Although it is a fake, it still looks exciting. I would give a lot to see this beauty live.

Nevertheless, let's take a look at the picture. When it appeared on the Internet, many believed that this photo was taken by NASA. And the three bright points in the sky are supposedly Earth, Venus and Jupiter. Of course, it sounds romantic, and the people fell for this lie.The media began to publish photos, and the whole world already knew what the Earth looks like from Mars. Unfortunately, experts analyzed the suspicious picture and found that it was in fact a fake. If you enlarge the photo, you will see the inscription "NE" in the lower left corner. These letters, experts explain, mean that a computer planetarium was used. Therefore, the picture was taken not by NASA, but by some random guy. What can I say? He deceived us all for a moment.

7. Loch Ness monster

This is probably the most epic fake of all time. Robert Kenneth Wilson took the picture, and the British newspaper Daily Mail published his "find" in 1934, claiming that he captured a monster swimming in Loch Ness in Scotland. Of course, then there was no technology that would allow you to verify the authenticity of the image. After the photograph was published in one of the most prestigious magazines, Scotland was in a tourist boom, because everyone wanted to see the Loch Ness Monster.

It is not surprising that no one has yet met this creature, although the lake is not very large. How does the public believe that a huge monster can hide in small Loch Ness without being noticed? I guess people don't want to think about the real world if the fictional one is more appropriate for them. Therefore, even now, crowds of tourists come to the Scottish lake in the hope of finding Nessie.

6. Derbyshire Fairy

We continue our list of fictional creatures. How much more do we need to "find" monsters and fairies to understand that they do not exist (or they are afraid of photographers)?

This photo was posted by Dan Baines on April 1, 2007. He stated that he found the corpse of a fairy while walking in Derbyshire. But Dan didn't stop there and put the remains up for sale on eBay. It sounds strange, but remember that some people buy imaginary friends on this site, so Baines' idea was not so bad at all. And Dan did get 40 applications, and he got over $ 300 for the winged creature. Baines did not even try to deceive the world, but people still decided to believe in the authenticity of the fairy, although they knew that it was a fake.

5. Neil Armstrong on the Moon

I just had to include this snapshot on the list. Of course, we don't know for sure if this is fake or not, but there are too many conspiracy theories on the net to ignore this photo. There are many skeptics around the world who question the fact that Armstrong was on the moon and believe that this shot was taken to fool the USSR. To be honest, I don't even know what is more exciting - that NASA falsified the image and forced the Soviet Union to spend money on a space program or that the American astronaut was on a natural satellite of the Earth. Either way, we should be skeptical about photography. Do not misunderstand me. I am more inclined to believe that Neil Armstrong really was on the moon and was photographed there. But how can we know for sure? If you're ever on the moon, let us know if the US flag is actually there.

4. Alan Rickman has never read Harry Potter

On the day of Alan Rickman's death, the world lost a real hero. He was a great actor, best known for his role as Severus Snape, a character from the Harry Potter films. Soon after his death, this picture appeared on the Internet with the following text:

“When I’m 80 years old and I’ll sit in my rocking chair and read Harry Potter. My family will ask, "Are you still reading it after so many years." I will answer them: "I will always read it." I understand Alan Rickman fans who want to believe that he said it. If he said that, it would be the most romantic quote. Unfortunately guys, Rickman never said that. Moreover, he had not even read Harry Potter. The author of these words is some fan of the wizard boy on the Reddit site. I know that the truth is unpleasant, but we cannot live in a lie all our lives.

3. Giant squid

Apparently the creators of the fakes have a fetish of big animals. We have already seen a huge terrible spider and the largest dog, Hercules. Now let me introduce you to a 48-meter squid allegedly carried to Santa Monica beach. Naturally, the clam became a media sensation. Some admired him, others were horrified. But the falsification was debunked by the network Sherlock Holmes, who, after several hours of investigation, established that it was a fake. And they were right.

I hasten to reassure you that the largest squid was 13 meters long. Yes, four times shorter than a fake clam. You can sleep well, the giant squid is not the biggest problem a person can face.

2. College of Architecture and Design

Hats off to the creator of this picture. It's brilliant, ironic and damn funny. If most of the bullies on our list have faked photos to scare us, the creator of this picture is to make us laugh.

Of course, there is enough space on the wall to write the name of the college aesthetically. Who would believe that professionals teaching students how to properly build buildings could make such an obvious mistake. It would be too tragic even for our strange world. However, there are many simpletons who believe that this picture is real, and that such a terrible college really exists.

1. Bigfoot in the forest

Naturally, our list would be incomplete without Bigfoot. Greatest myth of all time! Some individuals even spend their entire lives looking for evidence of the existence of this outlandish creature. I don’t want to sound trivial, but I think that these citizens should spend their time on something more useful. On the other hand, without people who believe in snowmen and other monsters, the Internet could not exist.

This photo shows us a yeti (more precisely, a man dressed in a fluffy suit) walking through the forest. Yes, it looks pretty creepy. And the image quality is good compared to other blurry photographs of fictional monsters. But it took only a few days to refute the authenticity of the creation.

We recommend watching:
